I am getting my F.M. 50 SUV installed soon and was woundering if removing the cats is something done just with the headers or can it be done with a simple exhaust upgrade? Is it something I can just tell the muffler shop to remove while they are at it. Thanks

These trucks have two sets of cats on them, the rear ones don't have any censors or anything behind them so removing them should not throw any codes and be fairly easy to do. You do not too have headers to do it. I am planning on removing the rear set and putting a factory style two bolt flange behind the first set so it looks factory and I can just bolt the second set back in if I need to. It will depend on what shop you go to in terms of willingness to remove them. Some shops wont touch them and some wont give a second thought about chopping them out. All of this is also asuming that removing them will make any difference in sound or performance. I guess we'll find out on monday!
