TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Snoway 29 series Plow - the real deal", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
The DC TRD came home with a nice HD Snoway 29 series plow today. With the poly blade it weighs about 558 pounds, the Tundra had no issues with it, it drove very nice w/o wallowing or anything of the type... I don't expect any problems, but if anything arises I will report. The extra 100 lbs over the 26 series along with Snoway's down pressure made quick work of scraping up some junk leftover from the last storm. I'll post a pic tomorrow...
The 29 series was $4100 installed w/ the poly blade. The dealer/installer I purchased from is Howe Brother's in Troy NY. I do not know what retail is, but the two other dealers I called wanted $4600 and $5100!!!
I have a snow bear plow to do my own driveway with . Nothing fancy just a power up electric 12 volt plow, I have had plow 6 years ,no major problems and under 1000 dollars new. My biggest investments are my mounts for the trucks.
Dealer In Rochester Ny Is Selling The 26 Series For $3700 $ And Carry
The Only Difference Is The Height Of Plow I Have Had A 26 Series Since 1994 And Have Had No Issues My Poly Is Cracked But Its 14 Years Old
Please Post Those Pics
did howe bros call you and tell you about the recall on the plow frame? i had the same plow installed it works well , not real happy with the installation .i took mine off to fix a few things . I hate when people hack things up to get them installed. also did you add a lift ?
if You Have Mechanical Knowledge Install The Plow Yourself I Have Put My Plow On 5 Different Trucks I Have Seen Some Dealer Installs, Some 18 Year Old Hacking Up Firewall Etc
Correct about the height, but don't forget the extra weight of the blade.
Normally not too many folks touch my vehicles. I wrench/build and fabricate all sorts of stuff..... however coming off the flu and with five thousand other projects, I let them do it. I'll go over their install when I have a chance.... see what is broken, etc.
well if you want the warranty on the plow ,they need to install the plow. They hacked up the skid plate and then installed the buss fuse for the plow by screwing it to the top of the plastic fuse box .they also cross treaded the mount where the tow hooks used to be. I plan on removing and re-installing the frame each year . I just don't want it on during the summer. When i had it installed in september i removed it as soon as i got home, thats when i found the nice stuff they had done. I did call to there attention to the fuse box before i left.
Did you check your truck warranty, My extended is void if i put plow on if i read it right. I would like to know more about as i would like to put a plow on mine someday and retire the old Dodge i am plowing with now. Anyone had dealings with the dealer after putting plow on.
Been using Snoway for 5 years now..Great setup..I put the 26 on mine with a 3" toytech 35" 10 ply tires for stability and an extra 2" of clearance (no sidewall flex)
