Smile new short block is in

I couldn't find my thread but last time I was in here I talked about My dealer was going to put a new short block in my 07 crewmax, well they did,Mine was a little louder that the diesel sound most tundras make.I was told by my service advisor that toyotas field tech had said that there was something wrong with my short block for sure. The field tech never said what exacly but just told my advisor to order a short block all gaskets and stuff to replace my block.Well after about a week the parts came in and I took my truck to the dealer on 2-4-08 and got it back on 2-13-08.The truck sounds great and over the weekend I put close to 800 miles on it,you can heard the usual ticking from injectors and stuff but no more knocking sound.I'm happy with my truck,I'm supposed to talk to Toyota headquarters tomorrow and let them know how my truck sounds since they're the ones that got the ball rolling for me and also was told by them that they are extending my drivetrain coverage to 7 years for all my troubles, wich I think is very cool from them.I just hope there's no further problems with my engine.

That's great. The diesel sound we have talked about has been described as lifters, chains, piston slap and a number of other things. Sure sounds like your team figured it out, piston slap.
Thanks for getting back with us to let us know.

Sounds like Toyota is stepping up to the plate with every Tundra owner. They just gave me the 7/100,000 $0 deductable for all my issues caused by a dealer, and not a manufacturing issue.
