TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tan Interior?", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Well, there you go...looks like there are tan/brown interiors out there. I didn't see any out at my dealership when purchasing, but happy with my tan/black two tone.

My and I discussed this quite a bit until I got the leatehr samples from roadwaire and started comparing them to get colors to match the truck and interior and thedoor panels matched up real close to a brown not black.
Toyota can call it purple for all I care, but to me, I have a Tan/Black Interior...simple as that...LOL
If you look at your door panels in the sunlight, you will see they are definitely dark brown. Like a previous post stated, the only black is the radio and a/c controls, every other panel is either tan or dark brown.

I am a chemist, and work in the hair color industry. I have a very keen eye for black/brown distinction as these are too popular colors for hair dyes, and in making new shades, you have to be able to tell subtle differences. I can say without a doubt that my dash is dark brown. Compare your door panel to your handle right next to it. The handle is black, and makes the brown stand out.

I'm a chemist to, but I work in the recreational industry
So I now agree to what some of you are saying...it is a very (very) dark brown, but in my opinion, dark enough to look black when it's up against light tan.
Nobody has stepped into my truck and said, "I really do like the tan/dark brown interior"...and probably never will.
But it is what it is, so I'll just say that I love my tan and dark brown interior!

The steering wheel is also dk brown in the tan interiors too. A guy at work has the grey seats with the all black trim and it looks darker like the photo post preceding this one.
The brown grows on you. Some have said the black comes off if you use a cleaner on the black dash.
I doubt your brown is any more bulletproof. It will probably scratch and discolor, just like the black, if you're not careful. They're both painted plastic.
