Default New tax based upon the size of the automobile engine being proposed!

There is a bill (tax) being proposed by the Democrats that will be based upon the size of the engine in your automobile. It will be a fee charged every year added to your registration fees. Hope someone with some sense steps in to stop the insanity.

The typical 2008 Tundra owner would be charged $325 a year.

What the Democrat Party will stimulate most will be America's enemies, liberalism and political correctness is as much a plaque as any country has ever lived through. They'll keep the American Idol generation as uninformed and narcissistic as can be.Tolerate every deviancy, lower every standard and reward failure. The more ''progressive'' we become, I swear our morals become those of animals in the wild, people MARY,animals BREED.

They can't be serious with this crap?!?!?!? My reg. fees are already in the $400's per year just for the Tundra alone. WTF is this country coming to. If this is a real bill I will be paying less for my homeowners ins. and my association fees per year than my registrations. F***!!!

This is just Washington State people. Washington, Oregon and Cali have large numbers of environmentalists.

Something like this would never fly nationally, or in less environmentalist states.

However, you are already paying higher taxes due to engine displacement, and you choose to do it. Larger displacement engines typically consume more fuel than smaller displacement engines and the fuel you consume is taxed.

If they want to pull that in an election year I say go ahead. We need as many Suburban driving soccer moms voting Republican as we can get.

Typical liberal BS from the Left Coast.

You'd be surprised how many people in WA and OR drive trucks...

And I bet the people supporting that bill have no idea the repercussions that tax will have. Every time they need a truck for something, there will be a surcharge passed on to them. Nothing is free. This sounds to me like just another knee jerk ultraliberal "solution" advanced without a reality check to back it up.

Even if you drive a Prius, you still need a truck once in a while...even if you never get in the driver's seat. Many people don't realize the number of trucks driven on their behalf.

Yup, just Washington State, but the Democrats all over the nation will be drooling all over their Superiority Bibs and pins and just waiting to nail the rest of us if this gets a go-ahead in WA.

A little research showed that this bill is dead. Apparently it did not make a February cutoff deadline and there is too little time to refile because of a short session. Don't you worry though, there will be other eco-terrorists filing similiar bills until we are all walking again.

You didn't know how this is supposed to work? Give you back $600 then charge you next year how ever much was said for the typical Tundra owner (which I assume means th 5.7L). Imagine those people who drive the high-end luxo cars with 10-cylinder engines. Not only will they have to pay that stupid tax on engine displacement, but they get SLAMMED with gas guzzler taxes. (Off the top of my head, I see a $1,300 Gas Guzzler Tax factored into the price of our S-Class Mercedes', as least at our New Jersey store...)

Ah...
Sounds like the "CHANGE" Obama has been talking about.

I never understood why liberals LOVE giving their hard earned money to the U.S. Government who just spends it on $400 hammers.

It's not their money they want going to the government, which is why they keep coming up with stupid ideas like this that will only tax those who don't obey their rules and drive hybrids. Besides, when was the last time you saw a liberal working hard to earn their money.

Very True!

My favorite line so far... To Understand Obama's "CHANGE" thing do the following...

1. Quit your job
2. Find an old cup
3. Stand out on the street corner with your cup and watch the "CHANGE".

LOL!
