TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "4x4 drive shaft recall", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
You know, its funny I was thinking the same thing. Particularly since my VIN was in the range on the letter posted by someone here. But I never got a letter. I'm going to ask my dealer next oil change.
I have seen that document. It lists a range of VINs but Iam pretty sure all the vins in the range are not affected or involved in the recall. Mine falls in the range but no letter from Toyota. Im thinking mine is not in the recall.

Just carry in and let them run your VIN # and that should clear all questions as others have mentioned! you could be one of the 451 in your area that might get a letter if your VIN # is listed and they might have not selected your name yet? really not sure how they decide when and whom to notify but dealer can answer all this thru TIS and hopefully you are not involved but Toyota has stepped up and fixed issues and that is great!!
i never received a letter about the recall despite the fact that mine was a recalled vin. having said that, my dealer checked it during a 10,000 mile oil change and said it was fine. few weeks later had it in for a faulty reverse light in the gauge cluster and they said they were going to replace the driveshaft which they did.
