TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "New Lift!", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I know this really isn't going to be that exciting to everyone else, but a couple buddies of mine and I just finished installing the Toytec 3" lift. It was actually very easy to do. Took about four hours for the rear block, front spacers and differential drop kit and skid plate spacers. I had zero experience, but followed the directions and used common sense, a few 3 ton jacks and some Coors light. I know this picture is dark, but what is a post with now pictures, right? I'll get more tomorrow when I wash her up.

Funny, from that pic it almost looks like a body lift. Looks good though, these trucks look awsome with nose up in the air a bit. If you are still looking for Toyos shoot me a pm, my plans have changed a bit and I might be interested in getting rid of mine. Chears and good work!

The front will come down some after the alignment

Yeah mine settled about an inch, I was all excited when it first came off the lift because it measured 3" worth of lift but it settled out too 2". Oh well, still looks better than shock.

Yeah...I also took the pic from a funny angle I think. I measured the wheel well right after the install and it was about 3-7/8 increase over stock. I measured it again when I got home and it had settled about half an inch to where the picture is right now...and I'm assuming with the alignment it'll put me right around 3 inches.

I'd like to see some daylight pics. Also, now that you have that lift, what size tires can you fit under there without any rubbing of any kind? Also, what will this do to the factory warranty?

I know, I know. I was supposed to get pics yesterday, but I was at work until late. I'll take some today. I am looking to get a pair of 305/55/20's which is about 33.4 inches as I remember. I think that the only thing people have had to do is trim the skid plate, which is no big deal. Once you go with 35's you start to have to question the issue. As far as warranty goes, it depends on the dealer/shop that you are working with, but they have to prove that your modification is what caused the problem. In this case, the only real strain I see being increased/changed is the load on the spring. The first spacer you put in, puts a preload, for lack of a better word on the spring. They give you a front differential drop kit to install, so those angles are reduced back to pretty much stock as well. I hope this helps. Like I said before, I'm no mechanic and by no means am I a 4WD buff, but I do have an engineering degree and this kit looks legit to me and the quality is top notch.

I Install my Toytec 3", 1" in back yesterday all went good, I like the ride better then stock.
Definitely like the ride better with the lift....truck looks great man. Your truck would look perfect with those black rims too. Start savin', they ain't cheap!

I am trying to hold back for right now, I love the black XD rock stars 18". one day I would like to go all black trim as well black rims.
it looks like you could use a lift in the back as well. IMO it looks nose up way too much for some reason. Maybe its the camera shot or the lighting.
it has a 1" Block in the back, I went with the block instead of the add spring, because I didn't want a rougher rid in the back. the topper sags it down a little bit. after alignment it still has some rake to it in the back.
