Default Traction Control

Hello,
I want to know about Traction control. Since I have 2007 Tundra SR5 TRD. Anyway when I load the boat and tried to tow it. It was behind my backyard there is a little wet on grass. Got stuck so I tried to pull and there is only one tire to spin. So I button (traction control TRD) the light come on. They do the same spin the ONE tire why? I thought it suppose hook up with TWO tires to spin same times like as POSI locker.. BEcause sometimes I tried to burnout on the road. There is ONLY ONE TIRE to spin. I just confuse because I saw a several youtube.com video of Tundra can spin TWO tires. Is there something wrong with my differential? It only Around 3700 mileage on it. Remember this is V8 5.7 liter as well. I read manual book and there have VSC. What stand for (VSC)??? I not see VSC on my truck. Can you tell me about trd traction control and other info please. My truck came with 4.30 gear in the differential. I had paper sticker off from truck's window when I bought it. They showed TRD (auto Traction) Limited Slip. Please let me know whats going on. I am new with Tundra..

Read you manual a bit more and it will tell you to push the little button on the right of the steering wheel to activate the auto-LSD

Try reading your manual again. When you push VSC button you turn lights on and off. When the lights are on that auto LSD or VSC system is turned off. Remember, when the lights are on the sytem is off. The Tundra does not have a posi of locker rear differential. The auto limited slip is an electronic (computer controlled) control that uses the brakes and engine speed (power) to control traction.
Good luck

I think you have to hold the VSC button for 3 seconds to turn it off. The dash lights will flash or something when the VSC is turned off. I'm not positive tho.

If you PRESS it once you'll get the "limited slip" which is no more than the brakes limiting the slip to the wheel and providing power to the other.

IMO, with a limited slip like this, if I were ever finding myself in a situation where I'd need this limited slip, I would have bought a 4x4 (and I did).

Anyway, back to the topic. Pressing it for 3 seconds will turn the TC off completely and only one tire will spin.

Hopefully you can get your boat out of your back yard. Sounds like you might need some better tires though. That will help you out quite a bit and surely help you at the boat ramp.

Default Re: Traction Control

So, let me get this straight:

Pressing the button and then releasing right away turns off traction control and disables the lsd (since both those lights come on)

Pressing the button and holding it for 3 seconds turns off the traction control, disables the lsd, and also turns off vehicle stability control (since all the lights were on)

But, the way I'm reading it is, if you just press it once, it disables the tractin control but still activates the brakes to somewhat control wheel spin when one tire buzzes away. I guess when I have my truck in the mode with the vsc off, I don't hear the abs pump, or whatever is makin the noise to control wheelspin.

Is this right?

If you press it once and immediately release it it will turn ON the A-LSD. The A-LSD will use the brakes to slow down the wheel spinning and transfer the power to the other wheel. It works - okay at best.

Holding it down will do exactly as you said. It will turn off everything.
