TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Hit A Skunk", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
The Only Way I Know To Get Rid Of It Is Give It A Month And It Should Be Gone BUT I Would Go To A Wand Type Car Cleaner And Give That A Try---There Is Also A Enzyme Made That Will Kill The Smell You Get It At A Strictly Nothing But A Pet Store--Put It In A Spray Bottle And Spray Everything Down But I Would Do The Cleaning Of The Under Carriage First
Many years ago, back in the stone age, my cat became acquainted with a skunk. I gave him a bath in tomato juice. He smelled like Campbell's Soup, but the skunk smell was gone immediately. The acid in the juice cut the oily scent and destroyed the butyl mercaptan that gives it its "tang".
So, I suggest liberally wiping down the outside parts with tomato juice where the scent is found, i.e. where the impact occurred, and likely the rest will dissipate with time.
Run over me and i'd pee on your truck also. LOL. A 20:1 mix of Bleach in a hand sprayer for the underside will help. Shot a Skunk in my shop one time and it helped after a few times spraying the floor ( Note to self "never do that again")
Go pick up a truck load of FINE Ladies and the skunk smell will be gone in about 10 Minutes!! Take them to the Casino and they will fix any smell issue with a buttload of smell good!!
my father-in-law hit a skunk one time and it had it professionally cleaned inside and out, and still couldnt get rid of the smell. he finally had to trade it in. good luck
Wells its raining wet and i guess I hit a skunk and my truck smells BAD!!!! how do I clean this!!! AHHHHH SO MAD

Baking soda and peroxide is one of the best skunk funk killers. You will have to scrub a bit to get it all. Tomato juice is ok, but it doesn't totally get rid of it.
