TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Drivers side lean?", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I agree, it's a cop-out if they blame it on a leveling lift. You can go to any dealers lot and find a few stock Tundras with the same lean that we are talking about (no lifts and very little gas in them). From my unscientific investigation at various dealers, I'd say about 30% have a 1/2" or more.....so why are the other 70% level, or at least near level?
Because there is still a human element in the design and manufactoring of the vehicle.
I just measured mine and the front is about 1/2" off and the back was about 3/4". I also measured two chevy's parked next to my truck and they were both dead on. This is annoying, I love my truck, but these bugs are starting to piss me off! ie- lean, bed bounce, thin paint. Sometimes I wish I would have stuck with the F-150's, I've owned 3 in the past and never had any of these issues... oh well, live and learn, but shame on Toyota for not fixing these problems before the truck was released.
I never paid attention to this until just the other day I was messing around with my new 72" level and placed it on the bumper, and then I just saw this thread. My truck isn't lifted and had below a 1/4 tank when I did this. My Honda is nice and level, though. Oh well, 1/4" is hardly noticeable unless you have a trained eye or measure...

The funny thing is, mine is atleast 1/2" low both front and back on the drivers side and if you look from the front it definately looks like it droops on that side, but if you look from the back the box leans to the right making the rear look low to the right. I give up. If I lift the left side I would have to shim the bed on the right to make it look level. I need to find a place in my driveway where there are enough holes and bumps to finally level this thing out and mark that spot so I can sit back with a drink and admire my truck and the illusion I created
