Default Drivers side lean?

I probably would have never noticed if I hadn't lifted the front with the Top Gun spacers, but on my truck measuring on level ground, there is about a 1/2 to 3/4" between the left front and right front with the driver's side being lower. The back is also a little bit lower on the drivers side also. Has anyone else put a tape measure to their's to see if it sits level? I have a 1/2 tank of gas right now and I am going to remeasure when the tank is empty.

Every Tundra I have measured sits about 1/4 inch lower on the left, both front and back. I had the spacers on my lift machined 1/4 taller both front and rear on the left for this very reason.

Front Susp: Stock coilovers, 4" lift (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...6-4-inch-lift/), just swapped extra spacers for Bilstein 5100s on lowest setting, wheel well height still 41.5."

Rear Susp: ProComp ES3000 #326510 (2.25" taller than stock), 1.25" blocks plus PRG mini-pack (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...and-new-truck/) gives 2.25" total lift, parking brake cable bracket spacers, wheel well height 43."

Front diff and rear ds drop; trailer hitch electrical harness tucked up above bumper.

After 20K miles swapped 305/65/18 BFG AT for 285/75/18 Toyo AT, still on stock 18x8x60 offset TRD wheels, about 1/8" clearance to sway bar. Like the extra height but miss the width. Next time either 305/70/18 or 35x12.50/18.

Added 5th 285/75/18 Toyo AT as spare. Foam pad above spare to help with bed bounce.

Bed Bounce: Stiffer E-tires are worse than stock P-metric; biggest improvement from PRG mini-pack, slight improvement from shocks and foam pad above spare. Still a stiff ride but tolerable now.

Best things about this truck: 5.7 and transmission, interior size and comfort, very quiet at high speed.

Worst things about this truck: bed bounce, no VSC in 4wd, mileage sucks above 70.

Yes, mine is about 1/2" also and it drives me crazy (even posted the problem here awhile back) Tilting Tundra?

Dealer said that they wouldn't do anything to correct it, and NO it doesn't have anything to do with gas in the tank, and NO every Tundra doesn't have the problem. Measured 10 of them at the dealer and only two leaned 1/2" or more. Not sure what I'll do about it.....but I hate it! Only thing about this great truck that really bugs me.

An option besides the custom machining of the lift parts my be to have your passenger outweigh you by a couple of hundred pounds. That should level things out.

I have a similar problem on my 08 crew max, though sometime you can't tell, other times it seems to be more obvious. Maybe its due to how the shocks are currently positioned or something when I park.

I have the same problem on my 05 Tacoma. Both are lifted, though. However, when I drive behind both, they look very very level, with no noticeable lean.

If you go look at almost every truck made, you should notice the vehicle leans to the driver side. Some trucks are worse than others. My Tundra does it alot less than my Silverado that I had. Cars even do it, again some are more noticealbe than others.

Look at it this way : when you are out on the highway, your truck looks perfectly level, due to the crown in the road.

My truck had a lean of about 1.5" on the driver's side before I got the shocks replaced, which raised it enough so that there's only about a 1/2" difference now.

Here is a summary of the advice I got from several truck experts:
"Do yourself a favor and try to forget about it. Trying to get it perfectly level is going to drive you crazy. There is more weight on the driver's side to begin with (gas tank, etc.), so even though trucks may be designed to counteract the lean, it's not unreasonable for them to do so, especially when the difference is less than an inch."

And by experts I mean people I know that have driven and customized trucks their whole lives. Personally, their advice was good enough for me and I almost never think about it anymore. *almost*

I brought it in for an alignment at Town Fair tire and they also mentioned a 1/2" droop on the drivers side, so it was noticable to them. The dealer was a mile down the road so I took a ride over there to see what they had to say. They blamed it on the Top Gun 2.25" lift in the front. I asked them how that can be since it is on top of the shock and not preloading the spring. They said it changed the geometry of the suspension and there is nothing they can do. I also tried measuring between a full and empty tank of gas and there is no change.

i measured mine before and after my lift and the driver side and the back is 1/4'' lower, so dont let them blame it on the lift. i thought it might be the gas tank, but its not. its not that big of a deal, but it does drive me crazy.

I agree, it's a cop-out if they blame it on a leveling lift. You can go to any dealers lot and find a few stock Tundras with the same lean that we are talking about (no lifts and very little gas in them). From my unscientific investigation at various dealers, I'd say about 30% have a 1/2" or more.....so why are the other 70% level, or at least near level? I know I'm just supposed to ignore this problem, but I'm a graphic designer and my eye is trained to spot things that are "out of balance". Many vehicles over the years have had this problem, just do a Google search for "driver's side lean" and you'll get all kinds of hits....and no good solutions. Still bugs the crap out of me though.
