Just yesterday I had an H-pipe installed in my Dual 2.25" aftermarket exhaust which a dual in dual out performance muffler with leads heading straight to the back. Sorry I didn't get pics of the H-pipe which is located right as the factory exhaust pipes get close to each other after the cats and about 12" before the muffler. The outlet are 4" internal and 5" external with a mild slash cut and 12" deep overall. My 3" external exhaust tips that were 6" deep just looked out of place and wimpy with those giant taillights, the over sized tailgate and overall truck size.
Check it out:
Kinda reminds me of the exhaust work on a Infinity G35 or new G37
The exhaust is more even with the H-pipe VS without. It made the loud spot that was at 1500RPM about 40% quieter and you hear more of the beatyness of the motor at that speed and mild throttle and less of that HUM that is so loud and annoying. Still louder at 1500RPM than 2000RPM but more consistent and finally something I can live with for the life of the pickup.
