Some states require property tax on vehicles...I know when I was thinking about moving to Boston it was something rediculous like 1-2%.
Fortanutely, I just pay for registration, but it goes off the value of your vehicle (fortanutely State determined). I think my total reg fees last year were $400

Dude, you need to move Whats your sales tax there?
I just paid my registration for 3 years-$116 NO property tax on vehicles. 6% sales tax. I'm sure we make it up in other areas(gasoline tx, real estate property tx, state income tx ect) I just never heard of p tax on a vehicle.Sucks
Here in WA we pay 1 time a year in registration for new tabs each year.
I think it was around 80.00? can't remember. now if we are talking regular property tax for home i got bent over and have to pay 3k this year
I know there are a lot more people paying more but that doesn't make me feel any better.
We here in TAXachusetts have what's called excise tax. Its a tax for registered vehicles being kept on your property. Not sure what it is yet, it's 2.5% of what they value it at.
And we have a 5% sales tax...duh
Stupid F*@KIN taxes

I haven't paid mine yet (Virginia), but I'm sure it'll be huge.
It's all the same though, you pay for it when you get your tag in some places, or you pay it with the property tax bill. At least registration/tags was only like $40 or something.
No sales tax here...
I just take the check that the state of Alaska cuts me every October and pay for my registration and a year's worth of fuel for my Tundra...
