This is a discussion thread titled "Big Rig Horn", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Forget those wimpy semi horns and go with the locomotive horns. Just do a search for "train horns" and you'll find sound and vid clips of them in action.
Yes, I do think the stock horn sounds lame and I'd love to get a set of train horns but the price of admission is pretty steep. It's the lame horns for me right now.
I put dual electric (12 VDC) stainless horns on my boat this year. They sound real good and were a little over $100. Being SS they would look good too under the hood. Made by Seaworthy.

Do they have a good, deep tone to them?? Where did you buy them??
This is a full-power railroad locomotive/ocean liner type compressed air horn squeezed into a bike-mountable package. Totally overkill, until you need to wake up some lethal driver. It’s got both the high and low ear-splitting tones of the individually sold Fiamm Freeway Blaster Horns, plus a little more oomph. The 139db high and low tone blasters combine via air induction to cut through the din and make the most distracted of drivers drop their cell phones and pay attention. Installs easily on all bikes with a 4.5"×3"×4.5" space for mounting. The loudest motorcycle horn available. If Ethel Merman, Sam Kinison and John Philip Sousa ever had a band, and played through a wall-of-sound amp rack, it would sound like this. 1 lb 4 oz.

I LOVE this horn. My husband moved to a distant second in the ratings game after I installed this horn, or "The Horn of Death" as it has been christened. Everyone within six blocks of the shop knows I have a new horn. It makes small children cry (or make that trucker-honk-your-horn gesture), bad drivers soil themselves, and that teenage girl with the gigantic sunglasses who pretends no one else exists dump her double latte right down the front of her pretty little blouse and all over the seats of Daddy's SUV. Aaaahhh... And life is good. After a series of lackluster airhorns and broken promises of earth-shattering blasters, I have finally found the one horn that really does the job right. -Wendy Crockett Wednesday, February 27, 2008
I love the silent power of my r1100rt bmw. However, at times noise saves lives. I made the mistake of trying the ear cannon for the first time within the confines of my garage. Now I can't even hear my buddies Harleys. I have never been more pleased with any product. On my bike I had to remove the horn bracket and modify it a little on the grinder. I am recovering and will be fine by spring. I can't wait to see people fleeing before me while looking for the giant semi they are sure is about to crush them. Hopefully I will stop many a left turn in front of that bike they didn't see. EARTH SHATTERING NOISE ON DEMAND!! YES!! -William Ouimet Sunday, December 9, 2007
I received and mounted my Ear Cannon Air Horn yesterday. I believe a "loud bike is a safe bike". A "loud bike with an even louder horn is an even safer bike". Love my Air Horn! It mounted on my HD Deuce easily. Excellent purchase! Thanks guys! -James McMordie Wednesday, November 28, 2007
read them all...
I wanted a horn to make up for the weak stock unit on my uly. It actually fit under the small fairing, although it is larger than typical horns. This thing is exceptionally loud, bone jarring, spinal decalcifying, slap you out of a day-dream loud. Which is exactly the point. It's larger size is the only reason I down graded it from excellent. -Craig Lehman Saturday, October 27, 2007

They sound good, my opinion is they are deep. They flat surprise people when I use them. Do you remember the show Overboard with Curt Russel and Goldie Hawn, these horns remind me of that sound. Any boating store carries them. I got these off ebay
no ex-lax needed after you pull out in front of me. you will cause hearing loss if you use these and someone is by your bumper or looking in your engine bay. i have to warn the dealer every time i bring it in. also these use so much power an aux relay had to be used (two compressors).
