Unhappy My truck is 2 days old..help! VSC Off, 4LO blinking etc...

First off; I have a 2008 Tundra Crewmax SR5 4x4 5.7L.

I used this brand-new truck for the last 2 days with no problems at all. I get in it this morning and notice the dash is all lit up.

The "VSC Off" light blinking, "4LO" light blinking, "Check Engine" light is on and the Slip Indicator light is on while driving. When I stop, put it in Neutral to try to switch to 4LO I get a constant beeping alarm.

When I push the Slip Indicator light, nothing happens. I hold it for 3 seconds to lock the diff, nothing happens. I am bringing it to the dealer right now and get this mess straightened out.

If anyone else has dealt with this or knows what could be the possible cause, please post here and let me know what's going on!

Thanks for reading!

Seems like a common occurence on 4x4's. It's probably the wheel speed sensor.

just got the truck back from the dealership. Here's what's on the invoice

CAUSE: P0307 CYLINDER 7 MISFIRE. C1201 ENG. CONTROL MALFUNCTION
CORRECTION: REPLACED IGNITION COIL

FP-NUMBER 90919-A2003
DISCRIPTION: COIL IGNITION

They told me "its covered under warranty" I would hope so! I've only burned half a tank of gas and there are less than 300km on it!

So, in closing, just thought I'd post again to follow up just in case someone has gone through, or will go through a similar problem. Thanks to everyone for their input!

This happened to me this past weekend. I stopped the truck and restarted and it went away. 17k miles.

Also have a new problem where the truck surges in and out of warm-up rpm. Not very pleased with the quality of this truck. Will be going into the shop for the 4th time in less than a year.

Angry For the THIRD time this month

my truck is going back to the dealer with the same problem

-4LO light flashing
-VSC Off light flashing
-Check Engine light flashing
-Traction Control light on

first time i brought it in they said Cylinder 7 was misfiring and changed the ignition coil

second time they said nothing appeared to be wrong and reset the lights

now its happened again and I'm about to pull my hair out. Its Thursday now and they can't look at it until Tuesday!

to make the worst of it, I haven't even made my first monthly payment yet!

anyone have an idea what this problem might be? and has anyone else had this problem?

I suggest demanding you get a complimentary loaner car till they can figure out the problem and fix it for good. If they can't figure it out, I think it's time for a replacement truck compliments of the dealership.

Research your local lemon laws? I would make a call to Toyota Corporate as well and I would call the Regional Toyota Manager. Good Luck

the truck seems to be working fine; but the inconvenience of bringing it in every week or two is extremely annoying. I'll post in this thread when/if everything gets resolved!

Please note the OP lives in Canada.. our laws treat us differently for defective vehicles.

Some guys had all their dash lights light up due to some type of wheel sensor going haywire. Could be something like this?

Check to see if the rear or front ABS cable is damaged. My custom exhaust melted mine and all this happened.

Also, see if the Camshaft broke. Seems these lights came on when it happened to me but, ofcoarse the engine sounded like it was about to come apart.

I would put my money on the rear ABS cable.
