Default Tundra Plowing?

Over in Cleveland for the last week we have got barried with snow. Almost 2 feet. The Ford's, Dodges, and Chevy's have been in full force plowing all night long. I didnt see a Tundra but at the local plow shop they said they have done quite a few. There was one there when I was there getting mounted up.

Some of these Big 3 trucks are newer and some are 20 years old still plowing. Plowing snow year after year is Serious punishment on a truck. Even some of the big 3's trucks have thinner metal then they used too.

My quetion is how will the new Tundra fair with its 6 speed, and what some (not me) are saying questionable frame?

Default Re: Tundra Plowing?

I've seen a couple with plows on them and the dealership I bought mine from uses two of them to plow there lots. Now they were trying to sell me my truck at the time, so I took it with a grain of salt but the guys that use them to plow said they worked surprizingly well and that they prefer the Tundra to the F250 that they had used last year. Just what I heard from them, from a dealership though so it pretty much means nothing. Only time will tell about how they hold up. They seem like pretty stout, well built trucks but I personally wouldn't want to plow with any 1/2 ton or anything with IFS front suspension for that matter.

Default Re: Tundra Plowing?

I was out all day yesterday in Cleveland screwing around in the snow and helping to pull people out that were stuck. (not plowing though) I didn't see any other Tundras while I was out either plowing or otherwise.

This truck is damn powerful and very impressive in that junk!

I did get a CEL though. I dunno why but it went out today. <shrugs>

There are a few guys including myself on here with plows... I use a Snoway 29 series which is a full size/weight unit, the truck has no issues handling it. As for the durability, I think it is there and will be finding out.

Snoway 29 series Plow - the real deal
