TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Puddle Lamps", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Anyone know if it is possible to order and install puddle lamps on the sr5 mirrors.. the cover is there. In my search i didnt really see any posts that said weather or not this could be done.....
I don't know about abbing puddle lamps to an SR5 but another option would be to install lighting under your truck. You could go with the neons if you're feeling disco but what I'm rfering to is regular lights. My brother-in-law did this to his lifted super duty and I think it is a great mod. He wired them in so that they come on when he has a door open. I think it works better than puddle lamps because they provide much more light. I would also think that it would be possible to wire them slightly differently so that they could come on when you hit the unlock button on your keychain. Good luck with your mod and I hope this helps.
I wanted to add them to my double cab limited, because they are only available on the CrewMax. I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't come on the truck. I was not told it was impossible, but I was assured that it's probably more costly than it's worth...

If you want want to add the lamps. Check out my thread Candy striper mod completed. it may explain some of the things that are involved. If you have more questions PM me and I will try to help. I am sure that it can be done.

Are there lights on the mirrors? Doesn't seem like it would illuminate much since it is on the other side of the door. Don't you have puddle lamps on the door already?

I wonder if there is a different part number for mirrors when you get the memory package? My 08 double cab with memory package came with the puddle lamps and the trucks with out memory had a blank cover under the mirror.
The mirrors with memory are much more expensive than the mirrors w/o memory. I am not sure that you can buy just the puddle lamp seperate at least I have not seem it listed with a part #.

I do not have the memory package, and that very well may be the missing link. But if I didn't think these were optional for the 2007 Double Cabs. Anyone with a 2007 Double Cab w/ memory package please advise?

I know that I cannot just order the puddle lamps and install them. I am going to look to see if there is a "blank" type of area in the mirror to see if it's possible to install something non-factory easily.

My mirrors have a seemingly blank space on the part of the mirror that DOES NOT fold. I thought the factory puddle lamps were located on the part of the mirror that does fold, but since I don't have them I don't actually know. I'm going to see if someone around here can install something for me...
