the new tundra is the best built gas powered truck out there.

beleive me I know.

made over 50 tips down the track last year with a drag behind me

not 1 broken part or problem...
So what's the highest gear were you using? Gasoline brand and octane?
Did you have to put weight on the bed for traction? VSC off? Was the pedal floored all the way?

Sorry for too many questions. Its just interesting to see it.

Thumbs down Re: pullthis with your tundra!

btw guys my wife has done all the work on my myspace.
I never have used it till yesterday.
just thought that I would back up toyos claims.
I bought my truck for just what you saw.

art 64,

most of the time last year I shifted from 1st to 2nd
1st is to slow for pulling (only 15mph)
2nd is to fast( 25 mph) so basicly stock the truck lugged down to 4,000 rpms
in the 6,000# class i had to add about 100 lbs
7000# class add about 1100 lbs behind the cab in bed
8000# class had to add 2100 lbs behind cab

I basicly used 93 oct whatever
can you say wide open even when shifting.

VSC is off in 4lo

thanks guys
any more ?s just ask.

Wow. Thanks for the info. This is a whole new way of demonstrating the capability and durability of this truck. And this is a stock Tundra? Incredible.

OO I see...So it would slow down the Tundra much faster and you wouldn't get as much distance out of it if they used the same gear as the diesels.

you got it.

but at the last pull
I pulled in there class at less than 8000#s
with a taller hitch 27" to 20"
and would have finished 3rd or 4th
winning DMax went 210 and I went 199 ft

they went up to 4th gear
I just left it in 1st

I think that the hitch hieght helped but I may have done better at 24"
It was so close because the drag was set so fast.
we use a 325 ft track.

Man wonder how you would do with 5.12 gears/true lockers, and beefier tires(BFG mudders, etc)/suspension etc...Probably would whoop up on some Dmaxes and other diesels.

So when does the box reach the top of the sled? 3/4 track? and 1/2 track for the oil burners?
