I was one of the first to install the DT headers and sent Thumbster my stock ones so he could mess around with them..I still have pics of the stock ones and the DT's side by side and yes, the stock ones are restricive.

Update for those interested.
I ordered a set of exhaust manifold gaskets from Toyota, once they are received I will take them to the company and see what they say. They actually design the flange based on the the gasket and open it up to make sure that there is just a straight flow from the heads to the headers and out.
Once they see the manifold gasket and I talk with them some more about what I have received and read on here and other sites I should have a decision from them and if they say yes, I will post up their information and time frame and all that stuff.
I will make every effort to dyno these headers so I can post up #s for those that want #s.
Since I don't work for this company and I don't sit on my thumb all day, I won't be able to pump this out immediately once they are done, but I will try to get this done and I will try to make it as close to the time that I install the headers and will try to get the temps the same so they are comparable.
Bear with me and I will post again with what I find out.
I don't need dyno numbers to make up my mind on this one. I personally know that any halfway decent name brand longtube header is THE BEST engine mod you can do in terms of price/performance ratio. Shorty headers just aren't worth the effort for the money they cost. Peak torque and hp numbers aren't the final word in terms of performance. A longtube header is going to give you a better increase in torque and power across more of the rpm band than any shorty header will. Any experienced hotrodder will vouch for this. I don't give a rats butt about CARB certification, since I can't afford to live in CA to begin with. I do believe in running some form of cats, since these aren't even remotely as big of a restriction compared to the mufflers themselves. I am however much more fond of metallic substrate cats compared to the more fragile ceramic ones. If this said company only offers ceramic cats, I'll pass on those and rather add my own metallic ones.

I second thumbster a longtube is the only way to go. Oh and screw the carb stuff if your worried about that then you dont need headers to begin with! Give me Longtubes with a some race mufflers!!!

Right on...it'd be great to see them step up proper for the 5.7L mill.
Mfr is already posted and confirmed on the thread . No please, this is legit. I'm familiar with the mfr, great designs and excellent customer service. They did a round for the 1st-gens, and I'm still happy with the price and performance of mine.
I can also understand why Imdone might not mention the company name at first. Several sets of their headers for the 1st-gens came back from the coater with a poor coat, which reflected badly on the header manufacturer even tho they had nothing to do with the coating. I believe they since switched coaters, and past issues with the coater are probably also why there's talk of stainless vs coated mild. In addition, there is a cut-rate, low-quality, shorty ripoff sold on ebay with a strikingly similar name, and the two are often confused (I think that was the point of the ripoff) to the detriment of the legit manufacturer.
Long tubes are one of the best things you can do to a naturally aspirated engine. Sorry if you're in CA, this isn't gonna work out for you at all, but there are 49 more states full of Tundra owners that can all tell CARB to shove it. In addition, these modern cats aren't nearly as restrictive as the originals. Like someone already pointed out, other components in the stock exhaust are more restrictive. The cats I received from this company have been on and offroad for about 60K miles now, no problems, and the extensions they provide make retrofit very easy (long-tube particulars aside ).
Good luck, if they do this like I know they can, they'll be worth the money.

*edit* FWIW, I too think a prototype and a dyno run is the best way...but that's me, you know I'm picky.
I have talked with them, they have OEM projects that are going to be in front of this one. OEM orders are in the hundreds and I will only stick my neck out for 20. Because of the mixed reviews and naysayers and people that just watch the thread rather than post I obviously don't get a good count of how many people want these.
They haven't said no but they haven't given me a date to bring in the truck either. They are still open to it and will do a stainless header but we are going to have to sit tight and wait.
They were very fast and ready to do the Gen 1 set but we had a lot better response at that time vs. this Gen 2 round.
Thanks Sean, you know who they are and the changes they are willing to make to make this a top notch set of headers. The backup is appreciated.
I'll post more when they are ready to get the Tundra in.
