TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "07s sitting on the lot for a year", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I cannot believe the number of 07 Tundras sitting on the lots around here. We are almost through the first quarter of 08, and there are still 07s. You would think that they would up the incentives on the 07s to move them out. The 07s that are left are moving slowly, especially since the incentives are not much better than the 08s. I ran one of the VINs and it was produced on 04/09/07. I am not so sure I would want a truck that was sitting in the Arizona sun for a year.
Yea and as gas gets higher and higher they will sit longer. Not only that your truck gets worth less every day even if you don't drive it. SO hang on and pay that sucker off. Then when you want a new you should get a deal. OK now lets talk about your house
My dealer had several 07's left when I got mine. I actually went there to look get an 07 figuring I could get a better deal, but they didn't have any crewmax's in the 07's. They were all the double-cabs. I wanted the crewmax. So got an 08. Just drove by there this past weekend (got my truck Jan31) and they STILL had 8-10 07's lined up along the road, none of which were crewmax's.

same thing in san diego, lots of 07 dbl cabs but no crew max, so we had to pay much more to get an 08 4x4 trd crewmax. I keep my vehicles 10 or more years so I bought what iwanted, not what the dealer wanted to sell me

I bought a '07 in late December. Beware of the stock tires going out of round when they sit awhile. I noticed a rumble around 60mph+ and took it back for a road-force balancing - and 3 out of 4 couldn't be balanced they were so out-of-round. Had a tough time getting the tires replaced.

Wow I guess they're more popular around here because when I went in to buy my new truck in Dec 07, I was looking for a left over 07 for a good price and they didn't have a single 07 left. They must have had some great deal on the 07s to get rid of them all, of course I missed it .

I can't help but smile knowing that no mater what the price of gas I can walk away from mine in three years and owe nothing.
I cant help but wonder what kind of offer toyota leasing might make me to keep it.

In the Northeast Region of our group of dealerships, I believe we have about 2500 new Toyota vehicles in stock. Of those, I believe we have less than 5 2007 model year Tundras.

I'm in the same boat here...28 months left...then it's all Toyota's once more. Of course, I will probably be getting into either some other Tundra (CrewMax for sure) or maybe a sports car of some sort. Polar opposites, but we'll see how it turns out...

Not to thred jack this but has anyone here ever turned in a truck after a lease? Are there deals made to get people to buy their old truck? As I wrote before if gas is $5 or more a gal. Would toyota sell us our trucks at less then the contract residual? <sp> Anyone know if that sort of thing has ever happened?
