TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Another leveling Q", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I have a 2007 double cab 4x4 and want to put a leveling kit on it. I have done the searches and read the posts and was going back and forth between the toytec and the truxx. Then I found the skyjacker 3" strut kit for about the same price but I haven't been able to find out much about it. Does anyone have any experience with it?
I recently bought a top gun customz font only level kit. I haven't installed it yet so I can't give you any feedback on it, but like you I did some research and everyone I talked to liked theirs. Are you looking for 3/1 kit or a front only kit? I've heard good things about the Truxx and Toytec, depends on if you want an in/on top of strut level. I've heard arguments for and against both. Good luck!
Thanks for the posts. I want to do a 3/1 and am going back and forth between the toytec and the truxx. I found the 3in strut kit from skyjacker and was wondering if anyone had used it and if there would be any pros/cons compared to a spacer kit.

A strut lift or true coilovers would be your best bet, if you're willing to spend the money. I've heard good things about either of the 3/1 spacer lifts you're looking at. The biggest difference would be the fact that the Truxxx is a sit on top spacer while a Toytec is in the strut. For the Truxxx you wouldn't have to compress the coils, and it supposedly provides a factory ride. The Toytec requires a strut compression and supposedly stiffens the ride a bit, which some people like. The jury's still out on whether sit on top spacers can cause excess wear on your CV boots due to the angle change. I'd recommend a diff drop with either option, I'm pretty sure the Truxxx comes with it, I'm not sure about the Toytec. Good luck!
i'd suggest going with a 3" front and 1.5" rear. here are some pics of my truck, i just put on a 2.4" front and 1" rear and i love how it sits. if i went with 3" front, i'd definitely go with 1.5" rear.

i have the readylift 2.4 and just added the 1''block. the readylift leveled out the truck perfect, but if you put a couple hundred lbs in the back it will sag. the block in the back makes all the difference. plus i didnt like the way it drooped in the back on acceleration.
