TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Exhaust pipe size...?", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Tried a search, but nothing came up that was helpful.
I need to know what size the exhaust pipe is between the cat and the muffler. From what I understand (from the threads I did find) is that there are like 3 different sized pipes, 1 size from the exhaust manifold to cat, 1 size from cat to muffler, and 1 size from muffler out to end/tip. I have a V6 DC Grade, dunno if that helps. If I still can't find out I guess I'll have to call the dealer. All that I do know is that it's not 3 inches, but anywhere from 2" to 2 1/4"...I've heard 2", 2 1/8", and 2 1/4". What is the one between cat and muffler though...

have calipers to measure it? or use a C clamp until it is snug, pull it off and measure that . since the truck sits up high enough it should be pretty easy. just my thought.

That's what I would do, especially cause Negra has a 5.7 and you (006) have a 4.0, I am pretty sure the exhaust piping is a different size.

Yeah, I thought that as well...but I also thought maybe Toyota might've tried to save some money by using a standard size on all models, except for ones with TRD exhaust equipped. I think I have some calipers actually...I know I have a c-clamp for sure. Thanks for the tip I'll measure it just to be double sure.
