This is a discussion thread titled "Rides Like a BRAND NEW Truck!", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Well, I hate to be the first.. I had mine installed Friday.. I was a bit disappointed that the issue I have is still there.. I get a Reverberation if I hit a any bumps square on.. Like if I go over railroad tracks, etc. The back goes.. BoooyoyoyoyIInnnngggg!. You can feel it several seconds after you hit it.. You can stand on the rear bumper and jump up and down and watch it reverberate all the way to the cab.. I was really hoping that would have been taken care of with the new springs but unfortunately for me It did not..
I can't say my truck rides smooth as glass like someone said earlier. Hardly!. Your constantly bopping up and down in the seat even on a relatively decent road.
So, I guess most of you had it really bad or something perhaps I never experienced.
Anywho, Was there much noticeable difference in ride quality other than that for me.. Ehh.. Sorry.. Not really.. If you didn't tell me the springs were replaced I would have never known..

I'll give it some more time though..
Wow, I'm really surprised. Sorry it didn't work for you. I still get some of the BoooyoyoyoIInnnggg that you are talking about, but it no longer comes after a stiff shot to the spine. It also isn't as bad as before and there are parts of my drive where it doesn't happen at all. I can't believe you didn't notice a softer ride, that's strange. Good luck with it......

x2. Of course it doesn't like an Avalon, but my teeth don't get jarred loose over rough pavement anymore. I get some boiiiiing over severely rutted pavement, but it's much more pleasant than what I would feel before. Maybe it's just different expectations, I don't know.
Yeah. I think it has to be my expectations were a bit higher.. I honestly thought these would solve the sustained bounce I got and maybe eliminate that teeter totter sensation which feels like the back rocks into the suspension in the front and the front bounces it back to the rear.. Like a kids spring mounted Rocking Horse.. Aghh!.

WOW, I don't get that at all. In fact I never felt it before the spring pack went on either ....

I know what you mean. If you hit the bed rails or the rear bumper - you feel it, it stops and then it comes back, like a ripple effect. I have it on my crew max with the TRD package it has me completely baffled. I showed it to my service manager (HVAC Service Co.) and he was like ?????? WTF thin metal? So we have 'bed bounce', 'shake-N-bake', and 'aftershock'. Man I don't know. Springs and shocks are gonna cure all this?
No. It's not a cure. It's simply a way of improving and smoothing out the ride. Your satisfaction will ultimately be influenced by 1) your expectations, and 2) the quality of the roads in your area.
Well, I finally got around to finishing my install today. Had to leave it on jack stands for a couple of days. Install took me about 1.5 hrs total. My height did change slightly. 0.5 inches at the wheel well and .75 inches at the top of the tailgate. After I take the wife out tonight, we are going for the test drive on Harbor Freeway (110).
