TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Rides Like a BRAND NEW Truck!", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I tried to call last night. The lady that answered said he was with a customer, but will call me as soon as he is done. He tried several times, but it is almost impossible to hear the phone where I work. Guess I'll have to try to catch him on Monday. I'm still concerned with the payload loss ( and I'm not buying another mod to make up for what I lose with this mod), but if it's not much, the nicer ride will probably be worth it. I'm warming up my CC as we speak .

Now you will be obsessed with finding a way to improve the front end as well?
I have Sway A Way coilovers and the mini pack on my truck and now my truck rides way better. I took it down a couple of dirt roads yesterday, and it rides like a champ. I can only imagine how much better it'll ride after I get some better rear shocks.

I'm trying to stear clear of completely changing my truck over with a 1/2 dozen mods. If I feel I can live with the loss of load capacity and it's going to ride as nice as Pat said it is, I'll be MORE than happy.
I have limited funds to put into the truck, so I have to choose well .

Already did the obsessing, just waiting on the parts. I'm getting the same shocks that Shaun has (the SAWs) but I have a longer wait since Greg is working some special valving magic
Plus I am not installing them until the Tundra UCAs are finished...getting lazy in my old age and want to be done with the front install in one step. Going to add some blocks to the rear too when I add the rear SAWs.
I won't be actually done DONE until CST releases a bracket lift, and I'm not sure when that will be. I wanted to do the suspension upgrades before adding the real height though, so I'm happy with the way things are progressing
Yes, they came with bolts and that is the reason the holes are drilled. However, I've learned through experience with these springpacks that after extended usage, the bolts just tend to squeak and sound irritating. This was the case with the Titans we ran the springpack on as well. So...I don't use them.
This choice is up to the user, but I've discussed this issue with Greg at PRG and he has assured me that the truck will not suffer as a result.
Don't know on the second part - I've never put 1,000 lbs in the bed. Probably 500 at most.
The holes look like they are pretty close to the top of the OE springs. I could see how after you get offroad you will be a little squeeky.
You have 1k lbs of junk you can throw back there to see how it holds up? I would be interested to see the sag with this kind of weight compared to the OE 3/4" lift block/blade.

I was just sitting here mulling over how we could load up the bed with junk, and then I thought, "what about people?" So I think I'll try to round up some neighbors and tell them to get in my bed
I'll see what I can do! It might be this weekend though.

That works!!! If it's not too much trouble take a couple pics while measuring the height to TDC of the wheel well with and without enough people in it. This would give a good idea about sag with load weight, I can guess what tounge weight would be.
You should also park it next to a tree and hang a disco ball and make it a party!

I was just talking to Greg about payload and tongue weight. He said that on the trucks that they have installed these on, there was no before and after difference in bumper height with the trailer on it.
By the way Pat, when the pictures are taken of you measuring, make sure we can see you clearly .
Oh ya, Greg said that the spring pack is $179 shipped...... I just may owe you a beer Pat.............

I spoke with Greg for about an hour today and he is definitely aware that there is a need for his product in our Tundra world!!! Not only that, he is also working a deal to buy a regular cab 5.7L Woo hoo!!!
I know this kit raises the rear end up 1" but will it settle over time? If it does I am in for one. I have a rough ride in mu Tundra, but I love my truck .
From what I gathered from my conversation with Greg, this is just the beginning. I believe they will be making even more products for our Tundras. Like TH said he even wants to get a Tundra for himself. He has 2 "available" to him now, but it would be better if he could do all his R&D on his own truck sitting right there.
He realy knows suspensions...... After our talk, I walked away with a much better feeling about my decision to order the TRD pkg when I had my truck built.
Greg will probably be trying to become a sponsored dealer here on TS.

So let me just confirm.. The Spring pack that were talking about here just went from $199 shipped to $179 shipped or are you referring to something else?
I spoke to Greg today and gave him a quick tour of our manufacturing facility. Very nice and knowledgeable guy. He works with most of the top companies in the off-road market.
