this mod made mounting my amp so much easier! i put my USamps MD-42 right on the back wall of the cab and it gets plenty of air, but at the same time, i don't have a system built for crazy amounts of sound, just a good low pitch bump in the trunk to please the girl in the back seat, they are always smilin' when the bass is hitting

any body that mounts there amps back there after this mod notice that your amps won't let the seat lock in the upright position because the seat backs are hitting the amps.
any one know of a solution, i doubt there is much I can do.

I thought I was the only one who will be facing this problem. (Kicker Amps 2.5" height) But I figure since my sub is going underneath the seat, there'll be no reason to fold it upright for a long period of time.
If there is a solution, I'd like to know too please.

Thought I'd add a couple pieces of info to this thread.
To remove the clips from the seat back, I pulled the 6 seat bolts (14mm), lifted the seat off the hooks, folded flat, then removed each clip/hook with a Torx T-30 on a tight clearance ratchet.
Once I had the clip/hook off, I clamped them in a vise, removed 2.5cm (25mm/0.984in) with a hack saw, keeping close to the factory angle.
Everything works perfect, once locked in, nothing is loose or rattles, and the hooks grab plenty of material. What a great modification. Now, off to the fabric store to finish the back of the seat.

I have my two amps mounted back there on a piece of 1/2" MDF. The MDF combined with the height of the amps still leaves me plenty of room for the seats to fully close and lock. At first attempt they were rubbing on one of the support bars that sticks out along the back of the seat, but a bit of re-measuring and I found I needed to lower the amps a bit on the amp rack. Because the seat is tapered, you have more room the lower you go. The seats went back in with no problems and the hook bracket mod works perfect.
That looks awesome. I too have my amps mounted there and fits perfectly. But I have been thinking that I might be able to fit a subwoofer back there also. fiberglass of course as the original speaker box I made quite didn't fit under the seat as I had planned.
Anyone have any fiberglass boxes made for their truck?
I want to steal some ideas!

There is more than enough room for amps, you might just need to lower them on the rack a little. My Alpines fit fine with plenty of breathing room. They are mounted on carpeted 1/2" MDF. My seats open and close without any problems.
I'd like to mount a 1000 watt power inverter on the bulkhead on the passenger side. Other than covering the entire thing with MDF and carpet or sheet metal screws out the back, is there another way to mount it?

You dont need to put any screws thru the back wall to mount an amp rack back there. I used the child restraint holes and mounted my rack by bending a few metal straps and attaching them to the MDF, then secured them to the restraint holes.
