If you look closely, there are three black metal tabs with bolts. The metal tab is screwed into the wood and the tabs are then bolted (screwed) into place like the picture. Do Not... screw the wood straight thru to the back sheet metal as it is only a single layer of sheet metal and you will have holes coming out the back of your cab.

Oh, I used really short sheet metal screws to hold everything in place. Its been a while and everything is real tight.

just finished, thanks to all for the help and advise, this is how they should come from the factory. an instillation note, an air ratchet and chop saw make this a very simple task, i think it would have taken forever to cut with a hack saw.

I cut mine a while ago but didnt apparently cut enough. that was 1 year ago, and I dont have the nipple that I cut. Can I get a measurement from the other direction, showing how much I should have left after everything is cut so I can finish this mod? I'd like the inside dimension from the top of the radius to the inside corner, then another measurment from the inside corner to the point, if possible.

thanks in advance,

Gary.

unbolt the seats, drop the backs re install the bolts and hold the seat up. you should be able to feel how much more to take off, i had a little point left on one and was able to just use a file to get it to work. another one i had to remove and cut a little more with the saw when all is right they go together the way they should.

I just finished this mod. But all I did was take a 12" cresent wrench and bent the four tabs on the back of the cab downward about 3/4". No cutting grinding or sparks, worked great. And the plastic slider on the seat hooks still work.

This sounds like the way I will do it.
