This is a discussion thread titled "Almost rolled my Tundra today!", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Went for a drive today. In the foothills of the Rockies, there was quite abit of snow that fell. I was going up a hill on a gravel forestry road, Id say there was about 10 inches of fresh, light snow. It must have rained pretty good before the snow fell, because there was about 4 inches of ice beneath the snow. So, uphill with snow and ice, I had to keep on the gas in 4x4. There was a sharp left turn, I was only going around 20 km/h, came around the bent and noticed fresh tracks going over the cliff..... needless to say, I hit the brakes....even with ABS and all the nannies, my RCSB just kept going toward the cliff. Scary! It stopped though. A F250 extended cab 4x4 didnt. It ended up on its side resting on some trees 15 to 20 feet down the embankment. Driver was ok. I helped him out of the area to get help. When I backed up, I almost slid into the side of a rock face, It took awhile to get going up the hill again.......then I stopped and backed up down the hill.....only to find a place to turn around and got stuck!! Wasn't too bad though, abit of shovelling and pushing and I was out!
Couple of pics of the road I was on. Sorry, none of the F250 or my stuck!!

That's a crazy story bro! glad you made it out okay. Silly Ford...
Man...those pictures make me miss CO Springs.....and CO in generally. NM is ugly.
I would have needed a 4x4 in CO though Glad you didn't get hurt or anything. Those roads are pretty dicey sometimes (as you just proved).

I noticed a crack in your windshield and it is almost the same kind of crack in my windshield going across from approximately the same area to the other side downwards into the bottom molding.
Other than that, very good escape from disaster that you made by making the right decision at the right time! Any second later and you'd be hanging two down there with the F250.
