This is a discussion thread titled "DIY Gentex.... under 10 bucks!!!!", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
The mirror was 3.99 at a u-pull-it place and the quick taps were 2.50 at advanced auto parts, sweet!!!! It came out of an early 2000 era Cadillac something or other.
I don't get it...so now you have two rearview mirrors?
uh..not sure where u think that....im understand it as he went to the junk yard and found a auto dimming mirror for a great price to replace the non dimming mirror that came with his truck. looks like one mirror to me. better than the non dimming mirror that so many of us have.

OOhh I see...When I first looked at the one pic it looked like it was mounted off to the side closer to the passenger sun visor meaning that he could've had two mirrors...but now that I look again I see it is in the stock rearview mirror's place. I see.

The sheer torture of dimming ones mirror manually must be horrific

could be that almost anything nowadays comes with one and it should come with a truck this expensive...or it could be that the stock mirror is just plain ugly and stripped down looking like it came out of a 80's cheyenne trim level chevy truck...or it could be just cause he wanted to.
