TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "lift", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
okay guys im understanding the whole lift kit reason now. I want to get a 6in lift kit got a price for the install and kit 2300. Is this a good price and by the way this it at toyota dealership what u think guys. And what r the flaws of havin the lift kit. I have a 4.7 2007 tundra im happy with the 4.7 dont tow at all and its a sr5 and whats the gas mileage will i get need to know cause im i might get the kit at the end of this month please i need feedback alot of it thanks
For that price it must be the PC Stage I. I priced that kit w/install locally and the best price I could get was $2200 otd. My suggestion is buy the kit seperately (from 4wheelonline.com or ebay) and have a local shop install it for you. As far as flaws go, the only flaw with the kit (that I'm aware of) is the powdercoating on the spindles will eventually corrode. You stated that you have a 4.7. What cab size and is it 4wd?

Gas mileage will vary depending on size of tire/rims. Also in my research it can also depend on what gear ratio you have for the 4.7 . I too have the 4.7 it's a limited with the gear ratio of 4.1... so now I'm really considering maybe wait on the lift. I don't want to get 10 mpg or lower. I believe most of the people here have the bigger Tundra's with the 5.7 engine and a gear ratio of 4.3.... and they are reporting a 4-5 mpg loss...
Please anyone feel free to correct me............ This is just what I have gathered from my readings....

To the OP, $2300 (lift kit and labor) is not THAT bad of a quote from the Toyota shop. If you are not comfortable with any local, smaller shops around you, then it wouldn't be a bad idea to have Toyota experts do the install....just my opinion.

oh my gosh....why would you have a 4.7 when the prices are only a grand more for the 5.7...oh my gosh...
(sarcasm, i have a 4.7 also but i had to post that since it seems everytime the numbers 4 and 7 are posted someone has to start making us justify our purchase)
