well, bought a g-tech just to have a little fun since there are no tracks real close by. anyway, took my neighbor with me who has a titan. he weighs right at 300lbs. yea, he's 6.4 and is a big guy. also, i'm running 20's with a 33" wheel. 4wd, RCSB with a 2 inch leveling kit, spray in liner, side steps and a full tank of gas. volant intake with dual in/out flowmaster 50 series.
for the numbers, best 0-60 6.4 with the slowest being 6.8.
only one 1/4 run down a basically deserted two lane road with only a few cows (cattle) for any city folk, on either side, no houses, no cars etc.
1/4 time was 15.1 at 93mph.
I'm not sure I have everything set up right on the g-tech but I did the best I could. Feel free to chime in with any thoughts. I had the Pitch set at 1.5 due to the stiff suspension.
Neighbor commented once and said, man this truck is really quick.
Do these numbers sound remotely close for those that have an idea of what this truck should run approximately.
Temp. was 57 degrees.
What would be really interesting is now that you have a G-Tech and have some #s to compare, take that Volant off and put the stock airbox on and run it for a few hundred miles to get the ECU trained and then do the same test at the same temp on the same road and see what they are. They might make you happy or sad you bought the Volant. Either way would be good info to have.
Depends a lot on the altitude, plus what version of truck you have, but yes, an RCSB should be low 14s.
Im confused. He says low 15's, you say low 14's. Either way, it sounds like with the tires, liner, 4wd and a fat guy your main objective is not speed. If so, put the fat guy and your truck on a diet! J/k. Low 15's is a respectable time for a 1/2 ton pickup in my opinion, especially one you are not trying to turn into a little street racer. Just take pride in knowing you can whoop up on the other 1/2 tons out there.

I don't think there is anything wrong with his engine, probably just different conditions. For example if one of the low 14 second RCSBs went to a mile high track in Colorado, they might run high 14s. Same truck, different altitude, slower ET, nothing wrong. I am sure there is a logical explanation for the OPs quarter mile time as different from other RCSBs.
I didnt mean to imply anything was wrong with his engine, I was just saying I was a little confused when he said 15.1 and you said low 14's. And you are right, 2wd and shed some of that weight he will easily be in the mid 14's.
Also drag racing experience means a fair amount too. How you launch, feathering the gas just right etc. The first time I went to a track, my results were more than half a second slower than what the vehicle was capable of. Just needed some time and practice to sort things out.

Altitude is around 2700 feet. I'm thinking 0-60 times were right on with the extra weight but it seemed to slow down in the quarter. I guess if I put the 18's back on, dropped a few hundred pounds it would have picked up a good bit.
IMO, I feel like the truck has lost some of its immediate punch off the line with the aftermarket exhaust. It just doesn't seem as responsive initally when I floor it. Guess I could put the stock exhaust back on and check it again in a week or two.
Always remember 20's and correct tires for speed will give you the best 0-60 and quarters, anything larger will cut your times.
Considering I was carrying an additional 500lbs or so and running 20's with a taller tire, I'm thinking 6.4 to 6.8 for a 0-60 is getting down the line especially being a 4WD. If I put my 18's back on and dropped the weight I could pick up a couple/three tenths??
