This is a discussion thread titled "New Stebel 300 Hz Truck Horn", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Over $100 including shipping, and a week to get from Australia. Plus any returns may be problematic, unless the seller can arrange an exchange via the manufacturer.
If you have not already bought then I would look at Stebel USA. They list for $75 each. Price includes shipping and handling, and only Michigan residents pay tax. http://www.stebel-usa.com/product/32...ct_Truck_Horn/
They have an email address and phone number on the site to answer questions before you purchase.
cool i pick one up also....thanks, this guy is probably thinking wtf is going on....

"As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I have no fear because I am the meanest motherf*cker in the valley"
I might just do 2 horns...EDIT: Nevermind, I just bought a second to wire up...just for sh!ts and giggles. A little bit more wiring, but hey, the weather is getting nicer, so not a bad project. You think I could run them bith through one 60A fuse? I don't see why not...would do two separate relays one connecting to each of the OE horn wiring.
I love loud
The relay's are 30 amp relays so you will need (2) 30 amp fuses. It should be really easy though. Just pull a single suitable gage wire from the positive battery terminal over to the middle support in front of the radiator. Tie the (2) 30 amp fuses into this single wire and then wire from each fuse to each relay. Then wire from each really to each horn and then from each horn to ground. Then cut each OEM horn wire and connect to its respective relay. You can always reattach the factory connectors and remount the factory horns if you sell or want to put it back to OEM.
current draw is less than 18 amps. just cause the relays are 30 amp doesn't mean that's what you need to plan for. 12 gauge wire at 8 feet can handle 39 amps with no more than a .5 volt drop (going by car audio standards). at 36 amps, it would equate to a .457 volt drop. 10 gauge at 8 feet/36 amps = .288 volt drop.
keep in mind that i am being VERY conservative on wire length. i factored in the ability to route the wire however you want to hide it well. if the main power wire supplying both horns is only 4 feet, then 12 gauge wire will yield a .228 volt drop. 14 gauge wire will yield a .362 volt drop, and 16 gauge will yield a .575 volt drop. 16 gauge is definitely too small to wire up two horns. 14 gauge would be the easiest for most people and would work fine, unless you wanted to run the wire around your engine compartment for some odd reason.

that one plays in the 500-600 hz range, which is not nearly as deep of a tone. that's what guys put on their motorcycles or miatas

Anybody who has ordered this have any idea how this Stebel horn will be coming? UPS? FEDEX? US MAIL? Thanks.
USPS priority mail got my confirmation e-mail just a few minutes ago. that's pretty fast processing, so i would imagine that everyone else that ordered from that guy will get e-mails shortly as well.
