Factory Skid Plate (Protection Plate) on 4x2 Limited CrewMax ???
Just want to confirm what the dealer told me. I got my first oil change on my 2007 4x2 CM Limited. After reading about skid plate issues during oil changes, I checked under the front end to see if they put my factory skid plate on correctly but it was missing. When I asked the service manager what the deal was, he said the 07 4x2 CrewMax Limited’s do not come with those. Could you guys and gals out there with 4x2 CrewMax Limited’s take a look under your front end and verify whether or not you have this protection plate. I am not referring to the aftermarket skid plate. It's like the one in the oil change link below. I don't know if it makes a difference but I have the factory 20" wheels as well.
I too have the trd package but not the limited, and I have a skid plate. Not sure if they come on non trd models or not (dont think so), but skid plates do not come on all tundras.

Buy your truck outside of the Gulf States Toyota monopoly if you don't want to compromise.
Was curious about this when I bought my truck, and mine has one. ( 07 DC TRD 2WD). The only trucks on the lot at the dealer I bought from, that had the skid plate were the TRD and the 4WD models. All others did not have the skid plate. Guess it is installed on trucks that were meant to be used off road on a regular basis.
