Nice!! I am so happy to see that the S/C kit is on its way to fruition. I've got cash sitting in the bank itching to turn into compressed glory!!!!!
A couple observations: It looks like the only intakes compatible with the kit are going to be the stocker and the TRD (obviously) which kind of bums me out as I hate the design of the TRD kit. In the pictures at SEMA a few years back the air/water intercooler setup was different and it looked like the stock throttle body would remain in the same place. It also looks like the cooler inline with the airlow is also the throttle body? Its an intercooled throttle body...I wonder how efficient its going to be at removing heat from the intake air vs. impeding airflow.
btw If u want more hits to this thread u may want to change the title to "TRD Supercharged 5.7 Sequoia - Pics inside!!" I almost didn't open this thread but I'm glad I did. just a thought
I'm not sure if you've rode in a regular 5.7 Sequoia but how do the shift points compare or did you even notice while you were busy being thrown back in the seat? lol
This was actually my first time in the new Sequoia and the last time I rode in a 5.7L Tundra was almost a year ago (all my friends own Tacos).
Shift points, as far as normal driving goes, felt about the same. I didn't want to shove my face in front of our Sequoia frea.. err... expert's face.

I'm all excited now...
Yea, the CAI basically reuses the stock airbox and changes just a few minor details (basically the surface area of the filter) so it was easily approved to be smog legal, hahaha.
I'll try and get some component pictures from TRD... but we probably won't get a chance until the kit is available in the wild.

Know anyone with some admin rights that can change it? I editted the first post but it's "stuck on stupid"

Thanks for the update and pictures - allot of us have been waiting for some new info regarding this subject. Any chance the reps will be back again? If so I think we'd all appreciate some video/audio footage posted to YouTube - that’s directed towards you TRD reps too; let viral marketing work its magic! Thanks again for the update!

I will be speaking to the reps again next week. I'll see what I can have them do. We also spoke about viral marketing. They've been doing it for years... but not the way the enthusiasts would. It'd be nice if I could grab a HD Camcorder and borrow the truck for a weekend. Imagine all the dumb videos that would be up... racing the usual entry-sports cars (Mitsubishi Evo, Subby STi, etc).... and working my way up to an IS-F...
We're hoping to set up an event at the local drag strip (Irwindale Speedway... though it's only a 1/8 strip) so people can see and feel the difference.
Hopefully their Tundra test mule is a Regular Cab Standard Bed though the sleeper Sequoia is hilarious.

Looks like a great setup!!! I was 100% sold on this when the news first came out, but after waiting, waiting, and then waiting some more, I bought a RWD V8 vert and started investing in that moneypit. Tundra is now destined for higher altitudes and bigger tires.
By the looks of the people in this thread that are ready to plunk down $6,000 before even investing in traction, tires, exhaust, headers, etc etc, the TRD kit should sell well!
