By the looks of the people in this thread that are ready to plunk down $6,000 before even investing in traction, tires, exhaust, headers, etc etc, the TRD kit should sell well!
with a set of 17's on the back, no reason why some MT et streets wont fit on the back, and that should give the truck just about all the traction it'll need.

Wow man your post is spreading fast; motor trend, autoblog, pickup truck, and several other forums. Track those TRD guys down and get us some more info/pics/specs! Did the ride have a boost gauge?

I notified my contact at TRD so I can make sure everything posted (spec-wise) is factual.
We didn't find a boost gauge; that was the first thing we looked for. I am waiting for someone at work to read this and e-mail the thread to me. It would be funny

Ha yeah that would be pretty funny lol. Tell TRD they need to take advantage of this free publicity while they can, unless they don't like to make lots of money that is. In which case just starting giving the superchargers away, put me first on the list lol

Stress testing has been going on (confirmed one is being tested with large filled trailer--undisclosed weight-- over a nice hill, not sure if any are being tested on a standard truck besides the Sequoia version)

To my knowledge, it should be fine. Superchargers are made for trucks (torque torque torque!)

Not entirely true. It all depends on what type of supercharger. Roots type wont give you the same kinda of low end torque that a well sized turbo or positive displacement s/c will give you.

True, my mistake. It's a roots-type, but if the results are similar to the 1GR version, you'll have command of about 90% of your torque by 1800 rpm (dyno chart I saw from customtacos... I don't remember which dyno it was run on though)

Umm.....a Roots blower IS a positive displacement blower.
A turbo is centrifugal (exhaust driven) and there are centrifugal superchargers. (belt driven)
A Roots or positive displacement blower always will make more off idle power than a turbo or centrifugal blower.......in other words, no turbo lag.
"Roots and twin-screw superchargers, for example, provide more power at lower RPM. Centrifugal superchargers, which become more efficient as the impeller spins faster, provide more power at higher RPM."
