I thought he was suggesting that those ads equaled the supercharger.
He very well could have been saying those ads + the SC....
He needs to chime in.....

That's the current test from what I've heard. I forgot which hill they're testing on, but if you see a Tundra with a huge trailer each day on your commute... you know what's going on (Not sure what area it's being tested at)
Re: Coming Soon for the Tundra---TRD Supercharged 5.7 Sequoia - Pics inside!!
JKChang, I have a question. Does the ECU cuts the boost between WOT shifts ??? I had an Automatic 3.0L TRD Supercharger on my Solara back in the day and it cuts the boost before every gear shifts (WOT) to prevent damage to tranny. Had I known this I'd never superchared an Automatic Solara. I was wondering if this has the same set up.. Thanks

I didn't notice the boost cuts between shifts on the Sequoia-- but I wasn't paying too much attention for that.

Same applies to the other TRD bolt-on's,people are sadly mistaken if they think "Mods" increase their vehicles net worth
You're 100% correct on a NADA/KBB/trade in scenario.
However, I know plenty of people who buy used and specifically look for the mods that they plan to do anyway.
So yes, you lose your arse on a trade in but you could POSSIBLY get a good % back private party.

Here is a clearer picture. It is out of the TRD Tundra from SEMA last year. The intake is a little different from the version due to additional R&D on TRD's part. Enjoy.

Yeah that is the entire pic and at this point that is over 7 months ago so a little more testing probably yielded the necessity for an intercooler and a redesigned intake tube.

Where is TundraBAY?
Hi. Sorry, I've been working gotta pay for the toys somehow. . .
Anyway, my little + symbol intended to imply that after you add S/C (which I plan to, although it's completely unnecessary in this GREAT truck), you will get incremental HP gains by de-restricting the air intake, exhaust (headers, true dual), etc.
I'm not the genius who came up with this, just read it somewhere
I haven't done any of the other mods and I'm not sure if I'll even do them all but S/C + CAI + dual exhaust seems a nice combination. We can hope that they'll do a package deal rather than charge MRSP for each individual addition.

No news. June/July is the expected launch though

The 4.7 didn't require an exhaust change. I think it did require some cutting of the intake hose though (it's been a while). We're actually installing a dinosaur 4.7L supercharger on a 02 Sequoia in a few weeks. We'll see if it passes all the tests before starting though
Re: Coming Soon for the Tundra---TRD Supercharged 5.7 Sequoia - Pics inside!!
I just read on another tundra forum that the supercharged tundra was seen doing mid 13's. I would expect better since SFZ ran 13.9 in his tundra with just a few mods, and reportedly a guy ran low 13's with Nitrous. To me, the supercharger doesn't sound worth it if it's only going to take my tundra from low 14's to mid 13's on the quarter mile. am I right, or am I missing something?
