To me, the supercharger doesn't sound worth it if it's only going to take my tundra from low 14's to mid 13's on the quarter mile. am I right, or am I missing something?
Well, a not so scientific rule of thumb is 100HP is 1 second. (the other "rule of thumb is 100 pounds is .1 seconds)
So 80 HP to the wheels would give you the numbers stated.

I remember reading that somewhere also, can't remember if it was a double cab or reg cab though. Average double cable is running 14.5 at the best and the charger gets you down to mid 13s thats pretty good. With your exhaust and intake you may even do a little better than that which is almost in Lightning territory with a 4door truck! The reg cabs on the other hand should be in the very high 12s or very low 13s which will smoke 90% of the cars around my town lol Cant wait!
PickupTruck.com sources at Toyota have told us the 5.7-liter supercharged Tundra has been clocked running the 1/4-mile in the mid-13s. They also say it will be the fastest vehicle in the Toyota lineup, excluding Lexus and, ahem, Scion.
I guess it was a double cab, but still. I was hoping for better

I was out at Bandimere last night watching a buddy race his bike. Bandimere is west of Denver and situated about 6000ft. There were a few trucks running there and one of them was a Tundra Dbl Cab 5.7. It ran 16.16 in the 1/4. Now the fastest was a Dodge Diesel and ran 15.97 and appeared not to be stock, and a Chevy dually that ran 16.06. There was a new F150 that ran in the 19's. Also some older Dodges and Chevy's and all in the 18's and 19's. There was a newer lifted Titan that ran in the upper 17's. So all in all, a pretty good showing for a stock Tundra. My friends were impressed. I'll be curious to see how much the time improve with a supercharger at altitude. There were quite a few Taurus SHO's and those things were in the low 13's, man those are quick.

The so called "final development stages" on this supercharger are likely to be testing the durability of the rest of the drivetrain for them to determine how much extra power is "warranty-able" in order for Toyota to not shoot themselves in the foot having to fix things on their own tab

bingo! your so right on.
if i was a betting man, but i'm not never was my thing.
i'd say the HP wouldn't be 505HP.
i'd say much much less, just as i said before 50 more to the rear wheel's would be the max.
but i'm assuming, and by doing that sometime's, i make a a$$ out of myself. so be it.
i'm just a man with faults, & issue's. but man enough to admit them. ;-)

high alitutude does suck i live in colorado and i know people who raced up here and down in florida.
he said if you are running 15s there in florida. add a second to tat time and it is close to the time u would run up here.
i have also ran my truck wit the G-tech. and i got 15.3
and i kno for sure that thing is accurate because when i ran my honda wit it and then took it to the track, the g tech was off by .3 seconds.

I doubt it
You just now be able to hit the limiter faster and harder
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm installing a 5K supercharger, im going to have my ECU reprogrammed (or have a chip installed)...if I'm having the ECU done, I'm having the limiter removed...
Re: Coming Soon for the Tundra---TRD Supercharged 5.7 Sequoia - Pics inside!!
If the chip or reprogram doesn't do it, I'd give it time for the boys at URD to get one made up like the one for the 5vz... Off-road only of course *wink*

its going to be a dealer installed flash, you will not have the options to change the rpm or speed limiter to your liking.

Who said anything about staying with the dealer flash? When Unichip comes out with a piggyback for the SC, i'll be putting it on - and you can remove the limiter then
