The lights don't necessarily stay on for that long. It just means the power to the swtich would be available for that period of time and the user can turn the lights on or off within that given time period. Afterwards, the power source for the switch cuts off and no trigger will be sent to the relay to turn the lights on.

so you would actually have to manually turn the fog light switch to cut them off?

yeah i think i'll go with Option 2 to cut off automatically with my ignition.

just did this mod... took about 45 mins or so (i take my time and move slow)

i used Eddie's method with the minimal wiring and no relay needed.

worked like a charm and has every function i want out of my fogs.

thanks very much for writing this up guys.
