TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Stock muffler/tailpipe", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Question for those of you who have installed dual exhaust for 5.7: what did you do with the stock muffler/tailpipe assembly with polished steel tip?
I still have mine sitting in the garage - my assumption is that the stock setup is not worth much. My garbage man obviously won't haul it off, but I was just wondering what the rest of you did with your old/stock exhaust?

yep, just installed the TRD duals this weekend....guess I am going to stick mine in the unfinished portion of our basement, just in case I ever decide to go back to it.
setting out on the curb sounds like a good idea - will try that. Also, my stealership is just two miles from my house - i wonder if they would take it off my hands?

Have mine listed in the classifieds along with the stock air box. I guess you could use it as a cat decoy for the thieves. LOL They could practice their sawsall techniques with it...

bet the TRD muffler looks identical inside, got acouple Toyota wrench's saying the only difference is the TRD has two out instead of one like the stocker.

I was in contact the the person in charge of the development of the TRD.
