so i haven't posted much on here but i have been looking around for a few months now... i have a 07 d cab 5.7 as my DD it is completely stock except a ebay TB spacer (and yes i saw a little difference).
anyway i also have a 500 rwhp supra that i sink all my extra $$ into. i recently
picked up a nx no2 kit from a friend of mine for the supra. but now im thinking i might try it out on the tundra. i wouldn't go to crazy with it maybe a 50 or 75 shot.
what do you guys think? has anyone else tried it spray yet?
not sure about the 5.7, but I know guys have used it in their 4.7. With a repair bill of over $10k for a new engine there is no way I would risk using NOS. Let us know how it goes as I know everyone in here would love to hear about it.
if you do it right, it will work just fine, but he's right a 50shot would be just what the doctor ordered. enough laughing gas, to just about smoke nything in a very short distence. and if it was done by a pro shop that set's up NOS kit's daily, they can set it up for you to hit it at 50 mph, than just let oof, because you would have passed the other vehicle so fast, they wouldn't even barther thinking of chasing you or playing any further.
i'm looking into a 50 shot.
since under dog racing has nothing else for me.
i'm at the end of my tricking put with this truck.
this week end i'm going to look at a reg cab 5.7 with no options except a/c.
and if i get 8 to 12g's off the sticker.& the color is right.
i', most likely looking into a twin turbo set up, instead of the trd supercharger.
but again, i have to check on nyctundra08 and his ability to disable the speed limitor.
message going out to him as we speak.
it will be home with me this weekend.

Have a guy that lives over here with a 5.7 crew max, supposedly he is running nos according to his wife. Have not seen it myself yet. I would try to talk to the guy but he's kind of a butt hole lol
Any time I've seen a nitrous engine built for a pump gas street car its usually around 10.5:1 and I've seen alot of race gas strip cars with about 12:5-13:1 c/r engines that are used with nitrous. You can't run the usaul amount of timing on them that an all motor engine would use but they make more power with compression.
IMO, as long as the spray nozzle is used before the mass air meter on a Tundra right now (considering no tuneable programmers or otherwise are available) then it should be perfectly fine.
With forged rods and crank from the factory the bottom end should hold up to 100 shot just fine. It's the intake blowing off that would worry me, it must be very expensive!
