help! i've been debadge!!

wtf!!! walked around the back of my truck today and saw that something looked funny. looked again and noticed my 'toyota' and 'TUNDRA' signs were gone!! the xsp sign and the signs from the dealership are still there. i have a feeling that someone has robbed my tailgate of its dignity! looks to have been done recently because my tailgate is dusty but the spot they were once in is very clean compared to the rest. some people are saying that they think they fell off. if that was the case, why is every other emblem on the tailgate and the rest of the truck still there? someone has stolen my emblems!!!

Do you do much 4 wheeling? How many miles are on the truck? Maybe you can get them replaced under warranty? Hard to tell what happened, I have heard of emblems falling off of new vehicles. Weird...Who want those? I would be Ticked off! Sorry

vehicle is kinda newish lol... i got about ~7500 miles on her. dont do much off roading at all.

may be some one spapped your tailgate with theirs? check vin#s and compare

If there is no adhesive left on the metal, I'd bet they fell off. That happened to my last Silverado.

It's very difficult to intentionally debadge a vehicle without leaving at least a little residue and I doubt a thief would be courteous enough to clean up after himself.

The 3M tape used to stick the emblems on the body is some stiiiiicky stuff. I'm so baffled by the idea of a badge falling off. I'd check for residue like mentioned above. WHen you debadge a truck, it's near impossible to get it all off without some buffing.

i find it odd that they would fall off, but the rest of them would stay. this is killing me lol

If this was April 1st I'd know what category to put this post in.....but since it's not I don't know how to take it. I can assure you they didn't fall off! Took a lot of effort to get mine off (removed the Toyota from the tgailgate, and the SR5's and Tundra's from the sides). I'll sell them to ya....

I think you may have purchased a fake Tundra made in China or Indonesia. I had a Rolex like that once.

might debadge the whole thing... hmm... i wanted to do them in black. silver truck with black xsp interior.... black headlights, tinted tails, and black emblems was going to look sweet lol

Maybe your tailgate also suddenly developed cracks - aka someone with the same color truck fixed their cracked tailgate the easy way

Hmm... ya know... my neighbor has my exact Tundra but his is 2wd. You think he'd notice the 4x4 badge? lol

I think that's the clue right there as to what happened. If it was warm or sitting in the sun, a piece of fishing line will slice them off very quickly. Maybe the thief cleaned up after to remove fingerprints.
