Default New Rims for My Tundra TPMS???

I bought new rims for my 08 Tundra. Will I have to take the Tire pressure sensors (TPMS) out of the stock rims and put on the new rims? Anyone done this?

Working on the pics! KMC Hoss rims in black! Can I put another set of tire pressure monitors on or do I have to stick with the set that came with the truck? Does the dealer have to do it?

I think whoever mounts your tires can switch out the sensors

You should use the ones that come with the truck, unless the new rims require the 40 degree angle TPMS. These sensors aren't cheap, about $300-350 to replace them, so I would stick with the originals. Any reputable tire shop should be able to do it.

The old ones will work as long as you "did not" have the "styled steel" factory wheels then you're outta luck cause they are a different and will not fit aluminum's

Not true. I got mine with the steel wheels and bought the 18" TRD alloys off ebay and had them TPMS swapped without any problems.

This link will explain it better, read after "attention!!"

I have the 18" alloy so I am hoping they will just swap over to the new KMC rims. The downfall is the fact that I have to mess with the stock wheels and tires. I had hoped to set them aside in case of an emergency or something but sounds like I will have to remove the sensors now. I think I am just going to run 325/60/18's on the new rims as well. They are 18 inch rims and 9 inches wide. Any thoughts on tire size? I dont want any rubbing issues but I want to fill out the wheel well some....Terra Grapplers I think!

That's what I thought about running but I would prefer a 35" tire to really fill in the fender wells! Hence my dilemma... I don't want too much of a rub. Got any pic's of your wheels yet?

My TPMS sensor swapped perfectly without any problems. I went from 18" TRD rims to 20" Gear Alloy Injectors.

I am told a 325/65/18 which is a 35 will rub....but I was told a 305/70/18 will fit whick is about 34.7. The only issue with that tire is it only comes in a MIckey Thomson and it gets poor reviews. I can take a picture of the rims.....how do I dowload an attachment?

Exactly what I said ... did you read what I wrote I said "styled steel wheels" sensors "would not" fit aluminum wheels ... the article you posted states the exact same thing I said, if you have regular steel wheels or factory aluminums they will work, but if you have "styled steel wheels' they will "not" fit.
