I'm planning on installing a Borla dual exit exhaust coming out from the rear of the truck. I've read somewhere that with this configuration and towing a trailer it wouldn't be good. Does anyone know why?
My guess would be the constant drone or magnified exhaust note when under load. Some say that you might lose torque because of a loss of back pressure on the exhaust system, but I have no idea if that is true. Seems to come up in every exhaust thread.

I does make alot of sense. I really like the look of the rear exit, however, I'll be towing a boat with a white hull and a travel trailer in the future. I do have the option of having it exit on both sides behind the mud gaurds which borla does make. But they don't carry it on trdsparks, which I found to have the most reasonable prices. Elsewhere the costs tend to be too much.
i tow our boat- canary yellow and white- mainly white hull. gone across a couple of states with it in tow and never had any issues....these trucks dont spew nasty soot and stuff.....only thing u might get is the echo off the travel trailer but nothing on the boat that ive noticed cleanwise or noise wise...
I have Borla's, no problems.......with dirt, now there is a little more drone noise, not something that really bothered me but it is noticeable, remember without the Borla's you will have an increase too.
As far as performance goes....do you really think that Borlas or any other named brand exhaust system would build something that you would lose torque from.?...talking about a sales killer
I don't tow with my Borla but I'll tell you that I drove 900 miles today and it was the only thing that made me happy today. (squeeks, rattles, a weird AUX connection that sounded like a skipping CD and my driver's window sounding like the glass was flexing).
Other than that, it was beautifully drone free for all 900 miles.

personally, i hate the looks of duals straight out the back. I think they look better out the sides, or out the corners like I had installed. I didnt want soot all over my boat or quads on the trailers either.
