well the summer gas blend is something I never thought about mmmmmm. That would fit the the time in which I installed it. Time will tell I guess. Now I feel like an ***. I will try to get some pics up as soon as I can figure out how to. Install was so easy. They sell a kit for our trucks. I guess hold off till this winter to see if anything changes. I will let you guys know.
How about removing it temporarily to see if summer gas is really what is doing it? You seem to drive the same route routinely.
Summer gas helps alot over winter blends, and so does the warmer temperatures, warmer air is thinner, and that means less wind resistance.

I did not mean to offend you personally with my statements. I have seen as much as a 2MPG difference between tankfuls on my own Tundra, driving the same routes. There are so many variables that can cause this. I hope that the device that you installed is what did increase your mileage. If you can, keep us updated on the long term results of this.
I call this out to be BS... with gas prices so high. why are dealerships and factories not installing this thing? Im sure they could buy them in bulk and pay 60$ for the same kit.
A buddy of mine ordered one as a demo unit and we installed it on my wife's 07 5.7L Tundra for over 12k miles. We observed absolutely no difference in fuel mileage. We removed it and he sent it back for a prompt refund...no questions asked.

you drove 12k miles in 90 days? or did they have an exception in their 90-day return policy for you?
I would expect to see a spike in gas-saver fads in the very near future. This may be one of them, but I'm a skeptic until I get personal experience or a friend gives me a good feed on the product.
Thanks for the link Frank.

Actually, my wife drove 12k miles in just under two months during that span. She averages about 1500 miles a week, but it's not uncommon for her to go over 2k if things get busy on the pipelines.

Holy crap! That's driving 25-30 hours a week at 60 MPH! She qualifies for the Iron Butt award

I saw an episode of Trucks! recently where they installed it on a cummins. They recited all the marketing stuff about what it should do, and said they'll update us on it's effectiveness on a future episode. Considering Fitch is a corporate sponsor of the show(s), I suppose it'll be favorable, or they just won't show the results at all.
While I'd like to see a product that really works, I'm not holding my breath.

Stick to just the summer blend gas making the positive difference in fuel economy. Density altitude ("warmer air is thinner") is true but is a non factor with regard to economy.
As for the Ficht, I'll beleive it when there is factual, non-biased info.

holy wow
if what she says is true, with regards to the no difference in mpg...., I'd take her word on it.
wow, 1500 a week. impressive.

Are you trying to say that "air temperature has no effect on MPG"???
Because that would be wrong. Wind resistance is the biggest loss at hiway speeds, more so than weight. Now city driving weight is the biggest factor, and not so much wind resistance. There is 2x the air mass per volume at -40 C than at +40 C.

Yeah, but what about the cold winter air intake? Doesn't that result in a more efficient engine?
