TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Get better fuel mileage guaranteed", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I installed theFitch Fuel Catalyst on my tundra about 3 weeks ago. Very easy to install. I checked my fuel consumption rate on two tanks of gas driving the same route everyday at the speed limit. I was getting on avg. 14.3 Mpg. I then installed my Fitch Fuel Catalyst. Drove the same route each day at the speed limit for two full tanks. 16.2 Mpg! Wow! It really works. I was very skeptical, but I saw the product on horsepower TV on spike. They tested it on the dyno on a corvette engine. It showed the fuel consumption decreased and power increased on the dyno. For a $200 its well worth the investment. Check them out!
I saw that show and have seen it elsewhere on TV. I don't know about cutting into stuff on my truck but I'm sure we would all love to see some pics of your install Please!

Our engines were designed to run on 87 octane. Many on here have tried higher octane fuel with no significant improvement in power or fuel economy, only added expense. Since this device is supposed to increase octane, I can't see how it would help increase fuel economy in our vehicles. Sorry if I am somewhat skeptical of another miracle performance enhancing device. I just do not believe everything that I see on TV, or read, unless it is from a source that is trusted.
Nobody is twisting your legs to buy it. If you don't believe it will work don't buy it. Your loss! Now I tested this on our tundra and it works. If that isn't enough info for you well I don't know what else to tell you guys. I thought I would be doing a favor for all by trying it out. So I did and all I get is crap. So do whatever you want.

Mfrank1965,
Don't get discouraged over this. I've witnessed many people just giving their opinions or listing real world results and have taken criticism or skepticism. You know you'll never please all the people all the time and your lucky to please some of the people some of the time.
Anyway, I'd like to hear more information on this. Where did you get it? How does it work? Difficulty level installing? etc....
I always try to keep an open mind until I do my own research so give us more information and pictures if possible.
Eddie

Don't get to troubled by many people of this Forum. I would agree that I too am a little skeptical but their must be more too it than octane due to your results. I have read their warranty fully but from my first view, "The Fitch Fuel Catalyst products have a ninety (90) day money back guarantee provided the installation instructions were followed correctly and the return of the product is based either on product defect or dissatisfaction with the product's performance." So for those of you that are skeptical, buy it, if it does not work return it in 90 days.

Take a deep breath and relax. After all, you didn't really expect everyone here to run out and drop $200 based on your experience did you? If this thing is for real (I had never heard of it before your post) and gives a 15% bump in mileage as you say it will sell itself....time will tell.

Oh yes, go to their website and read about it. According to the site, their little in-line can re-refines the fuel, something those 5+ acre, multimillion dollar refineries are evidently unable to do properly.

How does it work?
As luck would have it, they neglect to say exactly how it works, wonder why?
This device has been tested by the EPA, and there was no measurable increase/decrease in MPG.
Who knows if the EPA is honest?

I went to the Fitch web page, and the from the looks of the cut away, it looks like moth balls. The video also showed a "drop in your tank version" and it looked like a stack of moth balls. That is probably not what it is, but putting moth balls in a gas tank is an old trick from the 1960's. It increases the octane of your fuel, but I haven't herd of any one doing this since I was a kid.

Don't worry about it...........I was told I was a "hazard on the road" when I posted a thread about slowing down a little to save gas.

I would venture a guess that you recently were exposed to summer blend gas and see the increase of mpg due to that and not whatever you spent 200 bucks on. That 200 could have filled your tundra a whole 2 times!

well the summer gas blend is something I never thought about mmmmmm. That would fit the the time in which I installed it. Time will tell I guess. Now I feel like an ***. I will try to get some pics up as soon as I can figure out how to. Install was so easy. They sell a kit for our trucks. I guess hold off till this winter to see if anything changes. I will let you guys know.
