I installed a Volant CAI but I found I didn't like the volume coming from the engine compartment during acceleration. I wouldn't have minded at all when driving by myself but I couldn't imagine sounding so much like high-school while driving family and friends around town. So, I put the stock back in with a K&N drop-in and sold the Volant to someone on this board.
I did the exact same thing. But switch Volant CAI with KN FIPK and switch KN drop-in with TRD drop-in.

6" front door speakers....I wish I would install a quality 6x9s
Which 6" speakers did you get? I have Polk db6501 component 6.5" speakers in the front and I thought they were leaps and bounds better than the factory speakers that came out.

Ouch. Good info though. Might be enough to make the next guy think. If anyone has a mod that rusted or corroded or the quality was substandard, please post the brand and model if you have it so others can determine if it's a mod to avoid or just a brand that has poor quality.
lol i have apologized to my tundra and washed and waxed and waxed and washed her so she feels better lol i don't have a clue what the hell i was thinking at the time i scratched her i thought they looked pretty good at the time but after a few months down the road it just got uglier and uglier lol it looked like a ricer haha i think my tundra loves me again after we beat a f-150 lol

I regret buying the Craftec Tonneau. Water leaks in like the dickens. I added a rubber gasket all around with 3M tape. It does not stick well, flails in the wind, and still leaks.....the cover looks good though.
I regret buying the factory bed liner....a spray-on would be best.

I was actually thinking about getting the Truxedo Deuce but I haven't had a real need for it yet. More of a want.
As for the bed liner, I'm happy with mine. It's the factory one that I negotiated as part of the new vehicle purchase. It does what I want. I really wasn't feeling the $500 price for a spray-in.
Anyone with inputs regarding a lift? I really love to lift my truck and it's a big investment ( to myself ) , but just want to know more about the people that HAVE lifted it and how they feel about it as of today. I'm about to do a lift by the end of this month and really excited about it. Thanks. Any input is greatly considered.
Right now I'm regretting buying new wheels and tires. They have been sitting at the shop for 3 days now because they can't find lugs that will fit Toyotas short bolts w/ the aftermarket rims

What wheels did you get? I was thinking about these --->
I regret not taking my time when installing the top piece (fake scoop) of my CW replacement grille..... there is a small gap along the top that could of been avoided if I took a little more time installing. When the speed and wind are just right, it provides me with a not so pleasant whistling noise.
I also regret not getting a TRD exhaust financed into my truck at purchase time
I regret that I have not pulled the trigger on a rear sway bar yet.... and I'm not sure when I'll have the cash
I regret that I will be out of warranty within 18-24 months of ownership and I have no extended warranty. But, if I did buy the extended warranty..... I would probably regret that too

FUTURE MODS -
25-30 ft Travel Trailer....... bye bye Pop-Up
I know one mod that I'd really like is the AMP Research power folding step running boards, but I haven't heard anyone I know that has them. They sound nice, I have some reservations. One being that they cost $1100. I am a little concerned that if something is within the reach of the running boards and someone opens the door that the boards will power down and attempt to lift the truck, burning the motor out. The website doesn't mention whether the motors have thermal cutout protection.
Anyone have any insight?

Good question...I know there is a thread with lots of info on the AMP powersteps...Maybe do a quick search and I'm sure they can answer that for you.
...Otherwise I somewhat regret spending $500 in total with parts and labor to have my truck Toytec lifted and also somewhat regret spending $500 on a N-fab light bar and lights that looks good but I don't really use much. Probably could've used that $1k in other areas of my truck.

I regret putting a bull bar on, I hit a small snow bank this winter in a parking lot and it pushed the cookie sheet skid plat up and push the bar in to my bumper and almost cost some damage to my bumper. That was be for I put my lift on, wast of money.
No real regrets on the Truxxx 3" install. Along with bigger tires, it lifted the front end enough to make the 4X4 truck actually able to go off road without dragging on everything.
However, one thing to note is that if you're doing this strictly for looks, a 2-3 inch lift will not greatly change the truck's appearance. It will be hard to notice the difference. These Tundras are huge. If you want a bada$$ looking truck, I would suggest a 6" lift and 35s. I'm not sure how sturdy the bigger lifts are for offroading.
