Default Sod Weight

I hauled 600 sq. ft of sod the other day and it definitely made the truck go to it's bump stop. I didn't realize how heavy it was until I looked up the weight of sod and it looks like it's 5-6 pounds per sq. ft. Truck handled great, but I wouldn't do it everyday, and lucky I didn't have to travel that far. I hope the attachment works.

Wow! That is a lot of weight there.

I ripped all the grass out of my backyard in prep for a new patio and I hauled it away in the Tundra. I too didn't realize how heavy it gets. But the truck hauled it like a champ.

I just wish I had a dump ability for the bed. It would have save a lot of slugging!

The truck looks like it handled it well but your bed liner was definitely begging for mercy.

lsat week i dug out all of our lava rock that we so brilliantley put in the flower beds last year...(not good idea if u ever want to dig and plant there again, mulch much better) and wound up wiht the bed of the truck full of lava rock up to the point the tonneau barely closed. it wasnt as heavy as ya'lls loads but was definitely sagging in the rear. couldnt figure out what to do iwth it so i posted free lava rock on craigslist and wola someone 2 min from my house wanted it for his unpaved driveway. have any idea how fun it is to unload the truckbed by just going in reverse fast and hit the brakes? haha easy and quick for the most part.

The pallet definitely abused the bedliner. I had a different load a few months back with 1000 pounds on it and I shreaked as the forlift dragged the pallet across the liner. The liner definitely buckled. Some of the ribs on the liner were squashed flat, but went back to it's original shape after a couple of days.

I wished I had the dump feature last year when I was hauling a bunch of landscaping rocks. It wasn't much fun hand shoveling it out of the bed. My next mods are some air bags and better tires when the stockers wear out. I can't justify the new tires right now.

Yeah, sod can definitely get up there in weight! I had like 40 rolls maybe and it was saggin quite a bit.

Had 2000lb of concrete in mine before and it didn't chill on the stops.

Two and a half yards of mulch is nothing though. It barely moved!

Hello all, new to this site. I'm sure this is no news to most but I'll bring it up anyway. It is much better on your trans if you leave in neutral and set brake hard, when those lift drivers slide/push loads onto your trucks it can really jam your transmission.

Dude, awesome information! When I had my pallet of concrete slid (haha didn't budge on the Rhino) I had it in P with the Parking Brake set all the way to the floor. Truck rocked and that was all it did.
