Default FS:Tow Mirrors/LTD Mirrors

I am going to be installing tow mirrors on my 08 Tundra LTD Crewcab. It just occurred to me that I haven't seen too many LTD mirrors for sale on this forum. I usually see mirrors from the SR5 being sold when replaced with tow mirrors.
Is there any interest for Tundra LTD mirrors and if so, what is a fair asking price? I'm just starting to think about how and where I will sell my LTD mirrors. Skonebone

You lose auto-fold and electronic dimming of the side mirrors. I almost did what you're thinking about but in the end I got some $35.00 strap on mirrors and am very happy with them. The wiggle and vibrate a bit but I don't drive over 65 when towing and it's not too bad. If it weren't night out I'd take a photo of them, they're on right now because we're going camping. Think about it. . .

Default Re: Tow Mirrors/LTD Mirrors

I traded with another on this forum straight across, even though the Limiteds I had were worth a bit more than the Tows I wanted.
It was a "need" thing for me, so I didn't care.
Are you buying then selling, or wanting to trade?

BTW, we have a classifieds section on this forum and I will be moving this thread there shortly.
But, I am going to let you get a couple responses 1st, just don't be surprised when it ends up over there.

Welcome to TundraSolutions

MX, do you miss the auto-dimming feature, or the electronic fold?

Auto-dim...Yes, my baby blues hate bright car lights at night, but the height of my truck seems to make it not so bad as other cars and truck I've had.
Auto-dim is sweet.

The power fold...No, not so much. I never used it except to show off to friends, they were not nearly as impressed as I was.

I just purchased a horse trailer and have a boat that I tow. I got used to the tow mirrors that I had on my F350 that I thankfully got rid of. I'm thinking I may go back to the tow mirrors

I switched to the tows & don't miss the auto dim, actually had to turn it off sometimes because of the tinted front windows.

If you were to switch to Chrome mirrors which is best the whole mirror or the chrome covers for the door handles/mirror. Some one please help need to find the best way to go having this done at the dealer Will the mirror's be able to heat and have the turn signal don't matter about the power fold.

Heat, yes, signal, yes, remote adjust yes.

Dim, no. Fold, no.

I find these latter two features helpful very frequently. Especially when I'm only driving 65 MPH to try to save fuel and people are attempting to drive up my tailpipe, not having their headlights blinding me through the mirrors is wonderful. I tried to turn off the auto-dim, and after about 15 seconds I could hardly see ahead of me due to these apparent spotlights located outboard of each door, shining directly at my eyes. Power fold is great when parking in these Canadian parking lots which often have spaces wide enough for a Civic, not a Tundra.

By the way, from reading other posts, it's a bit of a pain in the a$$ to wire the auto-dimming feature and folding feature to vehicles not so equipped from the factory

Well, now it's officially turned into a Classified Posting and this thread is being moved to the classifieds section.

Good luck with your mirrors, skonebone.

Evidently moderator NHParrot didn't like my comment.

but I thought it was appropriate, so I'll repost, until it is clear to me that I was way off base! I mean, it may be untrue, but it's only an opinion, and the little smilie should indicate that I was half joking anyway.

Good luck selling your mirrors. . .
