Default Can anyone explain the benefits

to me of adding the TRD Dual Side Exhaust System and TRD Performance Cold Air Intake System. I am thinking about getting my dealer to install both on my new 08 4x4 Crewmax to try to help get better gas mileage. Does anyone have any stats or personal knowledge of how much this will increase my gas mileage. I know it will add HP and sound good but I want to know what it will do to the gas. Before I spend $1,500 to $1,700 on both of these, I want to know it will help my gas mileage. You can buy a lot of gas wit $1,500. Is is cost effective?

you will not recoup a $1500 investment if you are looking for fuel savings alone. the tiny bit of fuel savings is only an excuse to pay for the sound and the look and a bit of performance.

I have both the TRD CAI and aftermarket exhaust. I haven't seen much if any fuel economy increase, but that isn't why I bought it anyway.

I have both and added them myself after running stock for a while.
TRD duals first, then a few months later added the TRD CAI.

They look good
They sound good
They may have added a couple ponies.

They did not help or hinder fuel mileage, MPG stayed the same.

I repeat, if you want to increase your MPG...
CAIs and Exhausts are not going to help.

If it doesn't have any impact on the gas mileage then would it be better to use another brand such as flowmaster rather than TRD. Wouldn't it be cheaper or is the TRD that much better?

Depends on the sound and look you want. Every exhaust option will look and sound different.

Plus TRD parts are warranted by Toyota for 1yr/12k miles...or the remainder of your truck warranty if the dealer installs the parts. Aftermarket warranties vary widely. Don't know if that's important to you or not.

You are new here, so I will give you a bit of leeway.

"Search" is your best friend when it comes to this topic.
They are reviews and sound clips posted of most every system.
Some high dollar systems have been designed specifically for the Tundra, other lower priced options are an "off the shelf" can that can be made to work.
