Thumbs up went to the dealer today...

they replaced my AD1803 standard radio again (2nd time). In the meantime I handed them the pdf file (obtained from this incredible site which I visit everyday religiously) showing the columns and default settings for our Tundra electronics including how to shut off the friggin seat belt chimes.
Initially there was confusion and disbelief it could be done, followed by we will see, and maybe just on the U.S.A laptops and not on the Canadian computers.
I was a little uppity with the guy because the first time I inquired (my last oil change)the service manager said there was no way it could be done.

This time, armed with the information provided by you guys,on this fantastic informative pick up truck lovin site I insisted and the boys came through.

Now my tool bag or my dog Jack can sit without the seat belt chime goin mental .

Heef,

Are you sure you don't want to kill that dog by having a big airbag blow up into his body?

Sanosuke!

I did the same thing. I had to argue with a service writer and a service manager, and they finally agreed to "Try It" to show me that it couldn't be done. The look on their faces when my alarm was turned on, my seat belt chime turned off, and all doors unlocked at the same time was priceless. Funny how Tundra buyers who visit this Forum have to educate the dealers who service our trucks........

Sanosuke!
You think his chances are better going head first into the windshield? You think he should get a doggie car seat and strap him down in the back seat?

The air bag is activated by a certain amount of weight on the passenger seat...has nothing to do with the chime. When it's activated the light on the dash will say "On".
