Default Watch your truck around shopping carts!!!

Anyone that lives in New Hampshire will understand that no one returns shopping carts to the front of the store or to the bins.

Well, today I parked in a spot away from the cart bins. I wasn't even out of my truck yet, when bang(Windy day in NH today). Yep, a bright orange shopping cart smack dap in the middle of the right rear door. Two hugh dents, one about mid way up and the other right at the body line above the tube steps. I talked to the store manager and we filled out a form to send off to the their insurance company. We will see what happens.

While I was waiting for the kids to get out of school, I dropped by an auto body shop to see just how bad the dents were. $1022 to smooth out the dents and repaint the door and blend the paint, and add clear.

Man, I hope Home depot will work with me on this one.

Great way to start out a Monday..........

I had a similar experience at Costco on 5/18. The guy collecting carts lost control of the string and one cart came free and put a nice dimple in my chrome rear bumper. My wife flipped her lid cause she sawwhat happened. Not only that the IDIOT just kept doing his job and lost the same cart again narrowly missing the bumper a second time. The third time it was going to hit the rear quarter of the bed and my wife about ripped the guys head off. All this took place while I was wrestling the baby carrier from the back of my truck with my newborn. We filed a report with the store manager and 2 weeks later and 1 estemate Costco sent me a check for $670 to replace the dinged bumper. Good luck.

That could happen in any parking lot, not just at Home Depot. Dont expect them to help you out with fixing your truck though, most stores have a policy that they are not responsible for damaged cause by "runaway" shopping carts. Basically, its a "park at your own risk" kinda deal.

Costco for me - The sad part is that I always park way out - not even within 5 spaces of the next guy - I come out of Costco and there are shopping cart groves in the paint back by the passenger taillight. Cost me $500 to get the small dent pulled out and the paint fixed.

I got attacked by a cart at Home Depot last week. Left about a 12 inch scratch along the rear driver side door, not much if any dent though. I was in the store, so I can't say it was a store employee being careless.

I don't know if they would believe me since it is now a week old, and I've had my truck washed and been a lot of other places.
